Life Saver!!!
Dr. Masel and Patty were absolutely wonderful! Dr. Masel's bedside manner and knowledge are impeccable. I suffered with back issues for over 20 years that had been brushed off by Ortho doctors as "degenerative discs" that can be treated with PT. After years of PT and several Ortho opinions, I ended up in the ER due to my right leg locking. I was unable to walk. Dr. Masel looked at my MRI and knew immediately what was needed. Thank you Dr. Masel for finally helping me with the pain I have been pushing through for so many years and Thank You Patty for always being available to speak with my husband and I with any questions that came up :)

As an Occupational Therapist who has been suffering with a degenerative lumbar spine for 37 years, with no prior surgeries, I was apprehensive in taking the "step" in repairing my ailing spine. As an O.T., my specialty has been the spine, & I have seen plenty of poor surgical outcomes, especially when it comes to spinal fusions. I had an L5-S1 fusion, L4 laminectomy, and a synovial cyst removal. The surgery went perfectly, and the Dr. showed up in person in my hospital room the very next day to check on me. I was discharged the day after surgery, stopped pain meds on day 4, & I am recovering at a rate that is beyond all expectations. I would highly recommend Dr. Masel, and his staff for any and all neurosurgical procedures, especially when it comes to a complex surgery such as a spinal fusion. It's rare to find a group of caring professionals in the healthcare world we live in, such as Dr. Masel and his staff.

Was late to my surgery 2.5 hours Forgot to write prescription for pain meds after surgery. Was a no show for post op appt. Had to reschedule three times. I finally had the nurse go ahead and take out my staples. Office had no idea when he would show up each time he was a no show. I waited 2 hours the first time and over an hour the 2nd. I waited 30 mins the last time and then had the nurse to take out my staples. This Dr did a great surgery the first time I had surgery but this was my 2nd surgery with him and even his staff did not know what was going on with him.

Dr. Masel is a very experienced Neurosurgeon. I have had two very successful surgeries performed by him, nine years apart. He removed a brain tumor from my sister and as of now, she has been determined to be Cancer free. He is well respected by other Physicians and staff that work with him and have worked with him in the past. I travel a long distance to see him as I know the trip is well worth following up a treatment plan with him.

Three doctors, all specialists hypothesized on diagnosis, but all recommended consulting with the respected expert in my condition. He concurred. He then recommended a specific physical exercise to resolve the condition and a specific otc medication. I am patient compliant, will do as he says. Dr Masel is a great guy!

Dr. Masel is THE BEST! I had a full fusion on L5S1 and my whole world has changed. Prior to surgery I could barely walk or lift or have any kind of life. Popping pain killers which had little effect. 4 months later I was feeling great. A year later and I'm back to my old self! I can't think him enough nor can I recommend him highly enough. Dr. Masel gave me back my life.

Diagnosied w/CES, arachnoiditis, herniated L3-4, &CSF leak from a mistake from a different surgeon/practice Dr. Masel is very thorough, straightforward & honest. No sugar coating, which all I ask for. Dr. Masel is now stuck trying to cleanup previous surgeons mess. He helped form a game plan.Jessica his MA is just as good.

Dr. Masel is wonderful. His manner is so positive, compassionate, and supportive. He is very knowledgable and knew right away how to help me with the back pain that I have suffered with for many years. Other doctors had just done multiple pain injections without treating the cause for the pain. I am still recovering from the fusion surgery I had six weeks ago; however, I can already tell that it is helping. The staff at Frisco Spine, especially Jessica, are awesome as well. Highly Recommended
