Dr. Markel is very rude and arrogant. He doesn't communicate with his patience and refuses to answer questions himself. He walked in on me while I was undressing for surgery, he didn't knock or apologize. He is not worth my time. I am not done treating my injury, but I am going to another doctor or the emergency room, never back to him! Chris, his office assistant is rude as well.

Dr Markel performed a THR on me in September. He is a top-notch surgeon. My recovery time was quick. If you are looking for a doctor that will pat you on the head and tuck you in, he's not your man. He is a no nonsense, straight-to-the-point type of guy. He was always very cordial to me. I would heartily recommend him.

After a year of walking with a severe limp due to osteoarthritis, I can walk normally gain thanks to the total knee replacement I received from Dr. Markel. He did such a good job that I was walking with a cane three hours after surgery. I never used a walker. I am at the six-week mark now, and I can barely tell that I had surgery. It is nice to be normal again. I get to participate in activities instead of just being a spectator. Well done, Dr. Markel!

Dr Markel did a fantastic job with my hip replacement! Do you want a friend? Or do you want a surgeon! Dr Markel was incredibly nice. I came in for an appt for my knees. I left with a script for - hear me out- hip replacement. So- I had it done almost a year ago! I can walk and run now! No pain! Thank you Dr Markel! I love my new hip!

Please don't spend the money to visit this doctor. He spent very little time with me and not trying to understand the source of my problem. I left my visit confused and no better off than I was when I came in. People have been giving me a hard time for not seeing a doctor for my knee issues. Finally, I saw this guy who agreed with everything I already knew and gave me no help or understanding on how to solve my problem besides PT. I don't trust his knowledge or ability to be a real doctor.

Dr. Markel came highly recommended by another surgeon for my upcoming hip replacement. My recommending doc said Markel is one of the very best anywhere, but that some don't care for his bedside manner. Well... I've met with him 2x and I love the guy! He's no BS, to the point and doesn't waste time. He has the manner of one who is very bright, highly skilled, and a perfectionist. I'm praying my surgery goes well, and thinking I've got the odds in my favor with a top notch doc.

I was sent to him for hip pain. I had heard that he was a good doctor, but didn't have a good bedside manner. His bedside manner was terrible. I saw him for about two minutes. He basically asked why I was sent to see him, told me to do some PT and that I'd be fine. He said I probably just sprained a muscle. Turns out, I ended up seeing one of his colleagues and his colleague knew immediately that I needed to see a PAO surgeon for my hip dysplasia.

Dr. David Markel has done two Knee replacement surgeries on my husband & also my self.He is excellent In all area's of our care. He also has a wonderful team on his staff. that really care about the patient's. I trust them all with our care. A special highlight also is his Nurse Practitioner Kelly Sakalian NP-C. I think She is a added blessing for all of the patient's. Also have to admire the Core Institute PT Department. So well done! Good at their work! 5 *

Spent 50 minutes in waiting room looking at a screen that said Dr. Markell was on time for appointments. He couldn't decide on treatment and kept changing his mind. Very confused man. He confused his staff and me so I don't think I was the problem.

Dr. Markel is an excellent surgeon, he did my hip replacement a few years back. He is very direct, brusque, and scientific in approach. Unfortunately, his skills as a surgeon are somewhat overshadowed by his lack of bedside manner. He does his research before seeing you and will keep a very a brisk pace. So come prepared with questions because you will feel rushed. All in all, his surgical skill outweighs his lack of social skills.

He is not the friendliest doctor. But I trust his ability as a surgeon. He does not sugar coat, tells you as is. If you are looking for a good surgeon, then you have found him in Dr. Markel.

I visited Dr Markel twice. both visits lasted less than six minutes. Very curt and dismissive. I didn't feel comfortable and even less comfortable the second visit. I needed paperwork filled out and was charged an extra fee to do it. This paperwork was never submitted to my employer. I would never, ever recommend this doctor. Getting an appointment was easy. I understand why.
