Care Philosophy

I am a thoracic surgeon specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. My particular focus is minimally invasive surgery, such as Robotic surgery, for lung cancer, esophageal cancer, pulmonary metastases, mediastinal tumors, thymomas, and pleural mesothelioma. I have a special interest in the use of Robotic VATS; a minimally invasive technique for diagnosing and treating lung and esophageal cancers. In an effort to reduce patient discomfort, I stage lung cancer using endobronchial ultrasound, EBUS, with needle biopsy. EBUS allows the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer to be performed in one setting, on an outpatient basis, with reduced risk, no scars, no incision, and minimal discomfort to patients. I am also co-director of MSKCC Airway Service, a multidisciplinary team that treats benign and malignant diseases of the airway.Read more

I second the comment that he is the most arrogant Dr. I have ever dealt with and makes rash decisions without proper and full testing. He takes risks that you did not discuss or agree to during surgery. His misdiagnosis and aggressive surgical decisions nearly cost me my life. He had no remorse. He is a gear head and loves to play mr robot with the Davinci equipment inside of your body, cutting and probing in a unnecessary manner. HIs nurses are horrible and rude also. Find another doctor.
Most arrogant Doctor I have ever encountered- and I've encountered many- gave me a wrong diagnosis and wouldn't admit it, even after showing him proof. This guy is all about his image and couldn't care less about his patients.
