I highly recommend him! You normally don't get the combination of a great surgeon and expecially one with a wonderful bedside manner. He takes as much time as he needs to explain the surgery to you so you understand exactly what will happen. He doesn't cut any corners and is very detail oriented not only with the surgery but also the surgical team that he hand picks himself. If they are not completely committed two doing a professional job he will not have them on his team. And very spiritual.

I was in a bad car accident and Dr. Fernandez happened to be on call that day, so by luck he was my doctor. My tibia was crushed and I was warned I may never walk normal again. He not only got me to walk with a normal gait, but I have run a full marathon and over 20 half marathons since. His bedside manner is the best I have seen and he made me feel comfortable asking questions prior to surgery. His office is older, but clean and staff was very welcoming. Very glad he was on call that day!

I waited 3 months to see Dr.Fernandez. My appointment was at 8am. I was told at 855am that he was at the surgi center with family and they could not tell me when he would show up. I was going to reschedule and the woman at the front desk told me that they cannot guarantee I will not have another long wait. When I asked if it was typical for him to be late she became hostile. On a side note the office staff were unkempt, unprofessional and the office was dirty.

I went into surgery with this Dr for a spiral crack on one vertebrae while in surgery for 11.5 hrs good jig managed to skip and he busted five vertebrae and put screws in my nerves, I ended up having to go to another area of Michigan and Dr to get it repaired, I'm still suffering with permanent nerve pain and continuing have adjustments made and scar tissue removed... I would never recommend Fernandez to anyone!
