Dr. Chen is a compassionate and caring surgeon. I went to Fox Chase for a second opinion and they have saved my life. After meeting with Dr. Chen I felt safe and fully aware of my choices. He is patient and kind and ensures his patients fully understand the information being provided. The bladder trial study the Fox Chase team currently has ultimately saved my bladder. I am blessed to have Dr Chen and his team as my care providers.

Dr. Chen is a very good urologist. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer June 2017. I met Dr Chen for 2nd opinion. Intake was extremely helpful made sure I sent all my test results to them before my appt. Dr Chen & staff were ready for the meeting. They also retrieved my samples from the biopsy and performed their own pathology. They modified the gleason score to 3+3 instead of 3-4. Dr Chen also performed the genomic test which showed my cancer was not aggressive. I am now on active surveillance.

I was diagnosed with early stage, non aggressive prostate cancer 6 years ago at age 54 at different hospital and was advised to have surgery to remove my prostate. I saw Dr, Chen for a second opinion and was assured that surgery was not immediately necessary and i have been on a watchful waiting program with him for 6 years now. Dr Chen always takes the time to explain test results and reassure me that the decision to wait and watch is a safe one. I'm very comfortable having him as my doctor.

In January 2016 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I panicked and scheduled high dose radiation treatments with another doctor. Luckily I met Dr. Chen and he explained that because the cancer was so small and was detected so early we could monitor it because there’s a good chance it won’t spread. And if it ever did we’d deal with it then. I canceled the HDR treatments. That was almost two years ago and he was right, no change. He saved me from having to endure the many side effects of HDR.

I,ve had 3 major surgeries in my life, but never have I had a better or more caring surgeon. I opted to have a neo bladder and was out of the hospital in 4 days with very little pain. Dr. Chen called and was always ready to answer questions and concerns. I wouldn't go to anyone else in this area and I spoke with 3 other surgeons.

I was referred to Dr Chen by my primary Urologist when a prostate lesion was found during a MRI. A targeted fusion biopsy was recommended. Dr Chen performed the biopsy and the procedure went very well. No post infection and I was back to work in a couple days. Better yet the results showed no cancer in any of the tissue samples. Dr Chen and the staff were incredible! I felt I was in the best place possible. And Dr Chen personally called me with the good news! I highly recommended Dr Chen!

this man saved my life. i was 35 years old and randomly got kidney cancer (no family history or behaviors that would have caused it). he quickly diagnosed it as a potentially aggressive and recommended surgery immediately. after my surgery, turns out Dr. Chen was spot-on. the cancer i had was the most aggressive kind.. had i not heeded his recommendation, it would’ve killed me in 6 months. he caught & removed it while still encapsulated.. that was 2013. i’m now 5 years cancer free
