After shattering my tibia and fibula, & six months of not walking and every complication, I was completely hopeless. I was told by multiple doctors that there was a chance I would not walk on my left leg again and they couldn't help me. My first appointment with Dr. Chafey I regained hope in my future again. He saved my leg and got me walking again. He has truly been my greatest blessing through all of this. I will always be eternally grateful to him. He's nothing if not amazing at what he does.

My husband sustained a tragic motorcycle accident with severe fractures in his left arm. After waiting for a surgical plan, Dr. Chafey came into his hospital room with a huge smile and a plan for surgical fixation of his humerus. It was at that moment that we felt he was in good hands. His kind bedside manner and surgical skills have brought my husband to recovery. He is concise and explanatory with his plan of care, and expected recovery.

I had a very bad tibial plateau fracture with complicating blood clots. A year later, I am walking without a limp and without any pain. At 56 years old, I know this is a incredible outcome. I credit it to the skill of Dr. Chaffey, his team of orthopedic residents, excellent nursing care at UNM Hospital, and fantastic physical therapy through UNM Physical Therapy.

After I had my fall and broke my left ankle, tibia, fibula and distal humerus, Dr Chafey took amazing care of me. I firmly believe that if it had been anyone else the outcome may have been different. He took the time to explain everything to me, what to expect, outcomes, etc. He also took the time to explain everything to my husband. I am now back to training for a half marathon less than a year after surgery.

Our family and friends are very grateful and thankful for Dr. Chafey. In Oct 2017 I was in a head on motorcycle accident. 2 surgeries and 8 months later Im pain free. Left Humorous and shoulder are healed and hardware is removed. Dr. Chafey stepped in and was nothing but a man among doctors. He gave me clear and concise information in regards to every step of my recovery. Understanding was half of my battle and the compassion Dr. Chafey showed my wife and I, is something I can't repay. Thanks
