My Best Pick
I was referred to Dr Abrutyn by my primary Doctor when it became apparent some years ago that my left knee was beyond treatment and in need of replacement. Since then, I've also needed a right knee replacement, so of course, I went back to the doctor I trusted and had total faith in. As a female, I've had some bad experiences over the years with some doctors. This has NEVER been the case with Dr Abrutyn. He listens, and explains, answers questions and takes the time to give me straight answers to set appropriate expectations to the whole process. His office is staffed by the same caliber of medical professionals. I would go no where else, as I already have the best.

I fell and tore my quadriceps tendon in my right knee in Nov 2020. I went to Dr. Abrutyn and he scheduled a MRI. After reviewing the MRI he ordered my operation immediately. Dr. Abrutyn performed my surgery and prescribed PT. It is now August 2021 and after major surgery I am fully recovered. Dr. Abrutyn did a great job! I would recommend him to anyone. Thank you Dr. Abrutyn!!

Dr Abrutyn replaced both my knees, 2 years apart, in ‘09 and ‘11, after years of managing my severe bone-on-bone osteoarthritis pain. Both surgeries went flawlessly and I’ve been pain-free, with excellent mobility, ever since. Now whenever I chase one of my little grandkids around a park, I whisper “thank you, Dr Abrutyn!”

The whole experience was superb, cortisone, gel shots and then 2 TKR's. Dr. Abrutyn and Lauren are the best, I asked around and Abrutyn name kept popping up. They treat conservatively first, and they told me I needed 2 new knees. Had them both done in three months. I am extremely satisfied and thankful I found them at SMG. Office staff very pleasant AND they see you at your scheduled time. Highly recommended. Great doctors!

Dr Abrutyn is a great doctor. I tore my ACL skiing. He quickly diagnosed the injury and performed the surgery. His office staff is very knowledgeable friendly. He is very caring and attentive. He always got back to me quickly with any questions I had and called me after the surgery to make sure I was OK and knew what to expect. I am so glad I found him and highly recommend him.

Please consider using Dr. Abruyton for any and all shoulder pain. He was complete in his answering all questions and helpful in finding nonsurgical relief for my pain. Ultimately, I had shoulder surgery and I am now pain free. The office staff is excellent as well.

I went to see doctor Abrutyn as a second opinion. I'd read many reviews about him before I went because I didn't want to wastw my time with someone who was in it for a paycheck. My first doctor immediately spoke of a shoulder replacement by my third visit but still couldn't specify what the issue was with my shoulder. Dr Abrutyn was very patient, honest, and listened to all of my concerns. He took x-rays, requested any past tests that I had, he'd done in person ROM tests, and then gave me his opinion on what he thought was wrong with my shoulder. I say opinion because without looking into my shoulder through the scope, he couldn't give me a sure prognosis, which it for me is fine because I appreciate the honesty. I know what to look forward to. His bed side manner and confidence in his craft is remarkable. If I had any other issues in the future, I would definitely go back to him! Both he and his staff are extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. I'd highly recommend him to anyone I know.

I met with Dr. Abrutyn for a second opinion for pain and swelling in my knee. I explained how the first doctor aspirated my knee and gave me a cortisone shot without allowing the numbing medication to take effect which caused much pain and discomfort. He assured me that I would have a much different experience with him. Dr. Abrutyn is true to his word! Dr. Abrutyn reviewed the MRI that was ordered by the first doctor which showed arthritis, two meniscus tears and a baker’s cyst. After several visits back to his office and X-rays of both knees he was upfront and informed me that I would benefit from a total knee replacement. It’s been 3 months since my surgery and timing couldn’t be more perfect. I’m back to gardening and caring for my koi pond and most importantly back to performing daily activities without pain. Dr. Abrutyn has given me my life back and I’m truly grateful. He is a great surgeon and I would recommend him to family and friends.

I highly recommend Dr. Abrutyn for any knee issues you may have. I was 39 when I needed a total knee replacement. Because of my age and past knee surgeries Dr. Abrutyn explained all of my pros and cons before surgery. Just 3 months after surgery, I'm back to doing physical activities with Zero pain and all of my range and motion due to Dr. Abrutyn. Dr. Abrutyn gave me a new outlook on life. A life that didn't include being in pain everyday. I can't thank him enough. He is by far one of the Best Orthopedics in Somerset County.

Highly recommend Summit Medical Group and especially Dr. David Abrutyn. I had a total shoulder replacement on January 15, 2019 and all I can say is that all the nay sayers and horror stories people told me prior to having the surgery, apparently never went to Dr. Abrutyn. Absolutely the best and post surgical care has been great as well.
