I met with Dr. Abrutyn for a second opinion for pain and swelling in my knee. I explained how the first doctor aspirated my knee and gave me a cortisone shot without allowing the numbing medication to take effect which caused much pain and discomfort. He assured me that I would have a much different experience with him. Dr. Abrutyn is true to his word! Dr. Abrutyn reviewed the MRI that was ordered by the first doctor which showed arthritis, two meniscus tears and a baker’s cyst. After several visits back to his office and X-rays of both knees he was upfront and informed me that I would benefit from a total knee replacement. It’s been 3 months since my surgery and timing couldn’t be more perfect. I’m back to gardening and caring for my koi pond and most importantly back to performing daily activities without pain. Dr. Abrutyn has given me my life back and I’m truly grateful. He is a great surgeon and I would recommend him to family and friends.

I highly recommend Dr. Abrutyn for any knee issues you may have. I was 39 when I needed a total knee replacement. Because of my age and past knee surgeries Dr. Abrutyn explained all of my pros and cons before surgery. Just 3 months after surgery, I'm back to doing physical activities with Zero pain and all of my range and motion due to Dr. Abrutyn. Dr. Abrutyn gave me a new outlook on life. A life that didn't include being in pain everyday. I can't thank him enough. He is by far one of the Best Orthopedics in Somerset County.

Highly recommend Summit Medical Group and especially Dr. David Abrutyn. I had a total shoulder replacement on January 15, 2019 and all I can say is that all the nay sayers and horror stories people told me prior to having the surgery, apparently never went to Dr. Abrutyn. Absolutely the best and post surgical care has been great as well.

Dr. Abrutyn is a wonderful surgeon who put my knee back together for me. He is kind and attentive and has a wonderful bedside manner. He listens and remembered other medical issues I had which were completely unrelated to my surgery with him. His office staff is very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Dr. Abrutyn.

Dr. Abrutyn performed the complex shoulder surgery I required. The entire experience was truly outstanding. The surgery was completely successful and essentially painless. Pre and post surgery office visits were informative and worthwhile. Dr. Abrutyn is extremely skillful medically, surgically, and inter- personally.

I had a bad case of frozen shoulder. I can't thank Dr. Abrutyn enough for what he's done to help me. God brought the right doctor at the right time. He's very patient, professional, and always has a smile. He wasn't quick to operate on me but took the time to evaluate and try PT first. After many sessions of PT when it was not getting better, he then only decided to operate. I won't lie that the surgery is easy to handle but with time, I had full range of motion in my shoulder. I would hi

Dr. Abrutyn is unique, caring and simply amazing. You never feel rushed, you feel like he gives his opinion and LISTENS to yours! My daughter is an 11 year old gymnast who is in constant knee pain. He understands kids! He is kind and informative. He lets you know when he's in the office, and when he's not. If you are waiting for test results, he will get back to you as soon as he's back in the office. Wow - communication!!! The office staff is warm and caring as well.

I tore my pectoral tendon and needed a surgical repair (not a common injury) I wanted to find a doctor who was highly recommended and learned of Dr. A from a co worker. I wanted to have surgery ASAP (my injury occurred only 4 weeks before my pregnant wife was due). I was able to quickly get an appt with Dr. A. He answered all of my questions (I had many) and made me feel at ease. Surgery was a success! I am 8 weeks post-op and feel amazing. As an athlete I am extremely happy I went Dr Abrutyn

I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Abrutyn. I was an anxious and horrified mess when an accident left me with a shattered kneecap. Dr. Abrutyn answered all of my questions, eased my fears and insecurities, immediately got me into surgery, and put my kneecap back together. He was always wonderful about following up, listening to me, paying close attention to my case, and getting me back on my feet. I will forever appreciate his skill, attention to detail, and kindness.

I recently had arthroscopic shoulder surgery. Dr. Abrutyn did an excellent job. Very clean portal incisions look to be healing up nicely, the staff was nice and informative, and most major pain was over the same day I was able to remove the surgical dressing. The only thing I'd like to note is that multiple locations for Summit Medical Group is a bit confusing with scheduling so make sure you schedule your appointments accordingly. I would recommend everybody to Dr. Abrutyn.
