I love Dr. Bartel and his nurses and techs. His receptionists and office manager are the rudest bunch of people I've ever met. They roll their eyes, sigh and act like you're bothering them. They talk down to patients and play power games. I was very hopeful with Dr. Bartel treating me but now I'm looking for another doctor. I'm a patient and should be treated with respect, not contempt.

The wait at his office is awful. My parents are in their late 70's and we always have to wait a minimum of 3 hours. It is HORRIBLE that he is so OVERBOOKED. Good Dr or not.

I have been to my appointment early and have waited for as long as an hour and a half. Waiting in the waiting room and the wait in the exam room another 30 min this is just too much of my time wasted. The staff tends to treat the aging as second-class citizens absolutely no patience to explain policies assuming patients know all policies. I observe routine check-in turns into full-scale confrontations Something as simple as filling the clipboard without simple explanation.

Great doctor. Only complaint is the over scheduling. Wait time for appointments is up to 2 hours. We arrive on time and respect provider’s time. There is zero respect for patient’s time. However, this doctor is an excellent neurologist so we wait and wait and wait.

First visit, arrive about 45 minutes early. Lots of paperwork. Bring med. list. Know family history. Dr Bartel is very nice, courteous, and especially knowledgeable. Would recommend him very highly to anyone that needs a neurologist.

I went to Dr. Bartel for 1 ailment, which was never researched or treated. He went on to treat me for another ailment and found a new one, sleep apnea. He also scheduled and ran nerve tests without letting me know what was going on. I was not told the cost of the tests ($671 & $522), or the outcome of the tests. It was 2 tests. 1st was done by technicians and lasted over 30 minutes. The 2nd one was done by Dr. Bartel and lasted 2 minutes. He re-schedules your appointment without your input.

Never EVER go to this doctor. He will put you on all kinds of medication and then not refill it ... it doesn't matter if you follow every rule they have and request it 48 hours , 3 days 7 days ... you have to call and beg and harass and be off then for a week per month . I have watched my friends and family suffer . It's awful. Terrible what is going on at the office . Shame on them .

I visited his Graham, TX office and could not have been more satisfied. My test were thorough, all the staff were great and the Dr. explained the results and treatment options completely. I was there for a little over two hours but there was someone with me pretty much the entire time either checking my vitals, performing a test or explaining options.

Dr.Bartel himself is not an awful doctor. However, his staff is rude and refuses to contact the doctor for you. They have a policy of banning patients due to missed appointments, regardless of why the appointment was missed. Wait times in the office are extremely long.
