McHugh attended the University of Louisville on a National Merit Scholarship and earned a Master's of Science degree in Exercise Physiology while working as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach for the University's Athletic Department. After graduating from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, he completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The Ohio State University. While there, he was awarded the American Medical Association's Leadership Award for his work with disabled athletes. Dr. McHugh is a Diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and has sub-specialty certification in Pain Medicine. He has been recognized for several years as one of Nashville's "Top Doctors" by US News & World Report, Nashville Lifestyles Magazine, and Castle Connolly medical survey."

If you think you are going to see Dr. McHugh for any chronic pain issues think again. I saw him on the initial visit and that was it. I understand that alot of clinics operate this way now. I was turned over to a NP named Deanne Threapleton. Ms Threapleton and the clinic are interested in one goal....Read More

Most horrible experience I have ever had. He does not listen to what you have to say nor does he act like he cares. If you are looking for a physician and staff that will put the patient first, then this is NOT the place. When you have chronic pain, you need someone to attentively respond to your CARE..
