Dr Daniel J. Lee is an outstanding human being. He is so smart, empathetic, a skilled listener and surgeon. He successfully repaired my left ear SCDS at Mass Eye and Ear in September 2020. The experience from pre-op to healing at home with his team's support was five star.

I could write pages and pages on how grateful I am for Dr. Lee’s expertise and the positive impact it had on my son’s life, but I think this review will be most impactful if I break it down into high level bullets: • I heard about Dr. Lee at a social event and made an appointment with him immediately. The reason behind my son’s hearing loss was unknown and Dr. Lee performed an exploratory surgery. • During the surgery, it was discovered that my son needed a stapes implant. This is a very uncommon finding in children – and as I write this review, Dr. Lee was the first to complete the successful implant. The success story is my son. • Result: My son’s hearing has continued to improve since the surgery. His grades went from average to straight As and his athletic ability went from better than average to spectacular; both a result from being able to understand his teachers and coaches. Words cannot express the gratitude my son I have for Dr. Lee and his expertise.

Dr. Lee is courteous, patient, happy to share as much detailed information as I request about my condition. He is direct when needed (I have a condition that could mean the sudden loss of hearing in one ear), but also optimistic : my situation is stable and could remain the same for many years. So I feel as if I am in very good hands and I trust him completely.

My inner ear condition was so serious and complex, that multiple ENT’s declined to perform the surgery. Ultimately, I was referred to Dr. Daniel Lee as the surgeon with the best qualifications and experience to handle my case. I was extremely nervous during my first meeting with Dr. Lee. However, he took his time to explain my condition in great detail using MRI results and CAT scans, and mapped out a surgical plan to remove my inner ear mass and restore my hearing to its normal levels. His confidence and professionalism were very reassuring and I felt I was in the very best hands for my situation. The two surgeries are behind me now and I couldn’t be happier with the result. I am a huge fan of Dr. Daniel Lee’s and would highly recommend him to anyone facing serious inner ear issues. I am so thankful to have had access to his kind of talent.

My son has a very rare cochlea shape that caused him to loss his hearing. Dr. Lee helped us a lot with making the decision about our son’s CI. He was patient and answering all of our questions about the surgery. He followed up with us after the surgery as well, and still answering all of our questions until today. We highly recommended him.

I would like to thank everyone who was involved in the planning and executing of my recent ENDOSCOPIC TYMPANOPLASTY procedure, which was conducted at Massachusetts Eye and Ear (MEE), on 26 July 2019. Once again the staff, at MEE, were very accommodating and knowledgeable; which again made the process a pleasurable one. I am happy to report that the hearing in my right makes me feel like I have been born again; I cannot wait to have the procedure conducted on my left ear. It was interesting to read the DESCRIPTION OF PROCEDURE IN DETAIL, which explained of how the procedure is conducted.

He did an amazing job fixing my hearing problem. Prior to seeing him, I had lost all hope and accepted that an infection had permanently damaged my hearing and that my current hearing was going to be the new normalcy. It was a long surgery, but he was able to fix a complicated issue and now I am hearing much better these days. He and his whole staff were extremely courteous, helpful, they explained every detail and answered every question I had from the very first visit, the day of the surgery, and every follow up visit. Thank You! I would absolutely recommend him..mc

I loved Dr. Lee—he is everything I would want my doctor to be. He did a cochlear implantation for me and it could have not gone better. I found him to be warm, caring, patient and understanding. My circumstances were different from most and I travelled across country to have him to my surgery. I could not recommend him more highly.

Dr. Lee performed cochlear implant surgery on me three days ago. I am fortunate to be the benefactor of his skills and abilities, having experienced no pain or discomfort and only caring, compassion and professionalism from him and the entire surgical team at Mass Eye & Ear. Assuming my journey continues to successful activation, Dr. Lee will have been the person to ameliorate the worst challenge of my life, hearing loss. For that gift, I will never be able to repay him.

Dr. Lee was life changing for my son. He did a 2 1/2 hour surgery that brought my son from the deaf range in one ear to near normal hearing. Before that, my son would frequently get 2 ear infections a month for about 10 years. Now, he only gets a few a year. Dr. Lee has a broader range of solutions than other ENT's we had seen. He takes a comprehensive approach and explains treatment and options clearly. Waiting time varies, but it's worth the wait for excellence of care.

Im so pleased with the outcome of my surgeries. He replaced a cochlear implant that was migrated (which was implanted by the other surgeon) and did an implant on the other side. He is skilled with what he does. He is a straightforward doctor and my appointment with him has been pleasant. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Lee is an excellent doctor and compassionate, caring and kind person. He performed 3 cochlear implant surgeries on my daughter. All the surgeries were performed with no complications, Dr. Lee and all his team were friendly, courteous, professional, willing to answer questions and made my daughter feel as comfortable as they possibly could. We are so very grateful for the excellent care we have received! Thank you Dr. Lee for the precious gift of sound for my daughter!

Dr. Lee is a very kind, patient and knowledgeable doctor. I had SCD surgery with the drilling of the holes for thin bone. Dr. Lee is only one of two surgeons in the country to perform the drilling. He has given me my life back! We are so fortunate to have him here at Mass Eye and Ear! I highly recommend Dr. Lee, his entire medical staff and Mass Eye and Ear! My treatment here was truly phenomenal!
