Dr. Daniel Larriviere joined Ochsner in 2011 as the Residency Program Director and the Vice Chair for the Department of Neurology. He became Interim Chair for the Department of Neurology in 2012. He enjoys teaching medical students, residents and law students and is actively involved in the American Academy of Neurology, where he serves as the Chair of the Ethics, Law and Humanities Committee, a joint committee of the Academy, the Child Neurology Society and the American Neurological Association. Dr. Larriviere is also a long-standing faculty member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. A native of Texas, Dr. Larriviere earned both his law degree and medical degree from Baylor Univeristy. He completed his residency in Neurology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and his fellowship in neurophysiology at the University of Virginia.
