Physician - I have no complaints about him. THe billing dept is horrendous, charged me way over my copay. they have received reimbursement from. my ins. Now they tell me they don't know how much they will refund (or if they will refund). IF they do it will be a month or 2 before they know..This is outrageous,!!! I seen the doctor the last week of June. I paid in good faith. The insurance paid paid promptly in July. They have already had a month to review the bill. SEND MY REFUND??

I had an MRI Arthrogram done on one of my hips and it showed deteriorated bone, and deterioration of the hip socket itself. Dr Lamar upon reading the results acted like he became uninterested in my care, and just didn't want to do what was best for me. Instead of choosing surgery which would help, he chose injections for deteriorating a bone and joint. Said he wanted to get two hours of relief for me. He didn't care about long term care at all. Will NEVER recommend him.

Three months ago I had a TKR. Dr. Daniel Lamar performed the surgery and he and his team are absolutely wonderful. He explained my options clearly and scheduled the surgery within my tight timeline. The surgery went flawlessly. His PA Jason and Assistant Brea were both tremendous and were readily available before and after the surgery. All three exhibited a truly caring attitude completely focused on outstanding patient care. I am absolutely delighted that I selected Dr. Lamar and his team.

Fantastic surgeon. Caring and takes the time needed to help. His office is efficient. Very little wait time. He works with Dr Ghett a pain management doctor. There is a physical therapy facility on site that works closely with Dr Lamar. Jason is his assistant and works very closely with Dr Lamar. The entire team works to get you back to where you want to be as quickly as possible. I found Lakewood Ranch Hospital to be excellent too. All working together to getting me better and back on my feet.
While seeing an orthopedic surgeon isn't always planned or expected, we're happy you chose us for your care and are so glad to hear how happy you are with our service and how well you are doing!

Dr. Lamar is a personable and skilled surgeon. He takes considerable time on the front end to discuss the situation, present options , and recommends surgery only if conditions warrant. He requires extra attention before surgery to minimize the chance of infection and post operative problems. His follow up process with himself and his excellent PA is excellent.

In the year 2013 I fell down while dancing and was told that I had fractured the round ball on my hip joint. That the longer part of the joint did not need to be replaced. Dr. Lamar was the surgeon that was assigned to do the surgery. It is 2016 and I have had constant pain most of the time. X-rays showed no problem, but the pain was constant. My primary Dr. treated the pain with meds. Now in the year 12-2016 an x-ray has shown that the implant has processed. I need surgery & it will be done

From the initial consult to the post op (total hip replacement) visit, and every contact with hospital staff at every level in between, I was treated with respect, empathy, and the perfect blend of seriousness and humor. The surgical and healing model developed by Dr. Lamar and his professional staff leads to a quicker and healthier recovery than was expected just a couple years ago. I was doing laps around the ortho floor with a cane the afternoon of my surgery and was discharged the next AM.

Dr. Lamar is a good surgeon - Number 1. My experience with him was informative, caring & encouraging when I saw him for the first time to discuss the real possibility of a hip replacement. I was an OR nurse so had some real concerns as I had many times been in the OR, but not as a patient. He was thorough in his explanation of the procedure and comforting to me as I voiced how scared I was to be the patient this time. My recovery was great & I owe a lot of that to the fact that I had a good Dr.

The Doctor came well recommended. I went for my operation with there following items: A positive attitude, a well recommended Doctor, an outstanding Physical Therapy department and a Coach (my Wife). The outcome was as expected, out of the hospital tn two night, a graduation from therapy on time and I was way ahead of others that were operated on about the same time. Driving early, biking in less than three weeks and into the pool when authorized. Now scheduled for the left knee!!!!

From the minute I arrived in Dr. Lamar's office I was treated with kindness, professionalism. I was completely satisfied with Dr. Lamar's care of me. I had two knee replacements that were done wonderfully. I was back to work with my first knee surgery in 3 weeks and my second knee surgery I was back to work in 2 and a half weeks. I have told all my friends that are thinking about having knee surgery or need to see an Orthopedic to see Dr. Lamar at Coastal Orthopedics. He is the best! ?
