So Thankful for Dr. Kaplon
Before, during, and after a successful radical robotic prostatectomy my thoughts were already conveyed in these reviews as one states, " Highly skilled, patient man generous with his time..steady, methodical, quietly competent and good humored...I've trusted my cancer to him and don't regret it" Well done Dr. Kaplon, thank you and continue with God's Love. Gary

As a condition of his hospital privileges at Sarasota Memorial Hospital he was required to give me a follow up appointment because the Emergency Room doctor there referred me to him. His office staff gave me a run around and would not schedule me. So I had to call my PCP and ask him to call and pressure the office staff. Prior to going to the ER I had been given the run around by this same office staff. When you finally do get to see him, he is great. He did a cystoscopy that he felt was needed. However his practice keeps tight control and cherry picks which insurances they want to take. He tries to be elite but the hospital rules prohibit this.

I am a retired dentist. I am a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. I am very discerning and only desire the best. Dr. Daniel Kaplon is the best. I came to Dr. Kaplon after seeing another urologist who did nothing to investigate or alleviate my recurring pyelonephritis. The prior MD was not interested in my medical problem. Dr. Kaplon and his team were very friendly and courteous. Dr. Kaplon did an exam, investigated my history and spoke with me about tests and evaluation. Dr. Kaplon did not rush me in and out but rather took his time and was interested in helping me. I was sent for a CT scan with contrast. The tech took a blood sample and came back and said my kidney function was compromised to a point where they could not safely use the contrast dye. My anxiety went thru the roof. I was in kidney failure mode. I phoned Dr. Kaplon's office with these details. Dr. Kaplon called back within a short period of time and told me that sometimes these "quick" screens yield

Dr. Kaplon removed kidney stones for my husband several years ago and was so kind and professional that when I experienced pelvic floor prolapse, I went to see him too. Three weeks ago I had robotic, laparoscopic sacral colpopexy. Dr Kaplon is a fabulous doctor and surgeon. I recommend him highly.

I had no problem with my one interaction with Dr. Kaplon. On my follow up appointment I got stuck in a major traffic jam. I called the office from my car to let them know. They told me if I were more than 15 minutes late they would have to reschedule. I got there 13 minutes late on their clock and was told I had to reschedule. There was only one other patient in the waiting room. Dr. Kaplon, sometimes your own staff can sabotage you.

Was referred to Dr. Kaplon because of a distended badder caused by an enlarged prostate, a condition I have had for 25 years, which just kept getting worse over time. We decided to operate on my prostate. Dr. Kaplon performed the operation using a DeVinci robot. The results have been terrific. Throughout the course of care, I could not have asked for a better doctor. He listens and discusses. I never felt rushed in his office. His nurse and assistants always treated me with courtesy/respect.

He does not return any phone calls. On follow up visit he lets his nurse take out catherers and makes her go back and forth to his office to see what to do next??? Lousy bedside manners

I had some bad test outcomes with my GP and I didn't get much understanding them with my other doctors. Everyone wanted me on the same drugs, but they didn't have much clarity for me about what the underlying issues were. Dr. Kaplon's strategy was a lot different. He didn't want to push me onto drugs right away, and he sent me for different tests that helped us figure out the underlying disease processes. My health is now improving due to some simple changes, without drugs. Highly recommended.

After seeing two other area urologists over the past 4 years I made an appointment with Dr Kaplon. My first visit was at the office by the hospital. There the wait was about 30 minutes. Subsequent appoints were at University Park and the wait was less than 15 minutes. Dr. Kaplon was much much better than the prior docs in terms of being informative and listening to and understanding my questions.

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in early 2011 and after subsequent visits with Dr. Kaplon, I decided the best course of action for me was robotic radical prostatectomy surgery which he performed. My surgery went flawlessly and my post operative outcome has been very favorable. I have had no problem with incontinence. Recovery of erectile efficacy has been slow, but is returning. Four and a half years post surgery my PSA has remained negligible.
