I was a patient of Dr. Hurley for 8 years to follow my thyroid nodules. Eventually a biopsy was performed and was suspicious for cancer. Dr. Hurley performed the surgery to remove both glands; however, during surgery he damaged and paralyzed my left vocal cord. These are risks that I acknowledged and signed beforehand. He referred me to another ENT physician who specialized in vocal cords. If you need a thyroidectomy, seek a second opinion with a surgeon who performs a high number of this type of surgery frequently for optimal success.

Very poor scheduling person. He talks so fast that is sounds as though his sentences are just one long word - almost incomprehensible. Good for him that he can talk so fast, but a really poor choice for an Ear Doctor whose patients may be hard of hearing (like me). Hopefully I understood well enough to show up on the right day and appointment time.

1/2018 Cathy, Dr. Hurley's assistance is terrible at returning any calls or being helpful. It was so frustrating. She doesn't do Dr. Hurley justice. Dr. Hurley is a very good surgeon. He did my husbands sinus surgery and he is the best so far. My husband had two others sinus surgeries before Dr. Hurley. He had the surgery on a Friday and on Saturday Dr. Hurley called him on his personal cell to see how he was doing.

While Dr. Hurley is thorough during his examination and treatment plan, his assistant, Cathy, does not return phone calls. I called the office three times on three consecutive days and never got a return phone call. I had to go through my regular doctor and have them request a copy of the diagnostic records just so I could get the results. Within a half hour of calling my regular doctor I received the results.
