My experience was not directly involved with Dr. Driscoll. But in reference to his office decision to remove magazines for customers. And replace them with Christian reading materials on every table. When I asked the desk why that was the case their answer was : "We had to remove magazines for the COVID virus. That was not true. In fact when I had my prescription changed at their previous location, the COVID virus was not in effect. And again I wondered why no magazines. They offered no defense or logical answer in both cases. It's very obvious their true believer/saving souls attitude/in your face view is all about magazines distracting your attention. So rather than keep their religious beliefs PRIVATE and RESPECT customers who might not share their beliefs, they choose the rude approach. I wonder what god might say about that? I'm sure SHE would not approve of their insensitivity, obnoxiousness, callous, true believer, immature behavior. See continuing Part 2. Hawaii Vision.

Dr Driscoll removed cataracts in both eyes 4 months ago. I requested the surgeries to be scheduled back to back since I wanted it all done in one trip to Hilo. I couldn’t be happier with the results of my sugery and the changes in my life. I can now go out driving at night without being blinded by rainbow auras of other cars and lights. Clarity and color brightness were all significantly improved. I was given information on all my options for lenses, and never felt any pressure from Dr Driscoll who answered all my questions straighforwardly and knowledgably. I had great confidence in him, and he performed the surgeries skillfully, quickly, and with great back up care from the people at Hilo Surgery Center, and Dr Fitch the anesthesiologist. Highest recommendation to friends and family.

Dr. Driscoll was top notch, they made me feel very comfortable with his knowledge after all it is your eyes you are dealing with. I would recommend him to any one that would need anything done with their eyes. Very great experience by far. I am here working on the Pepeekeo power plant and could not have asked for a better eye doctor (top notch)

Dr Driscoll has his wife’s family working there. They are not friendly especially her father, he is very in professional has a flat affect, does not wipe down the machines between patients and does not explain what he is going. Dr Driscoll does not want to hear complaints as (if he is in denial about it)from his patients about this concern. He too is unprofessional. I would not ever go back again!

I FOUND DR. DRISCOLL TO BE AN EXCELLENT OPHTHALMOLOGIST. HE DID MY CATARACT SURGERY, AND IN THE MAIN, I HAVE HAD LITTLE OR NO PROBLEM. MANY OF THE STAFF, HOWEVER, ARE SLOVENLY AND AND HAVE A HOSTILE, ABRUPT, AND NEGATIVE ATTITUDE. DON'T DARE TALK BACK TO THEM OR YOU ARE OUT!

I highly recommend Dr. Driscoll to anyone needing his expertise. I recommended him to my friend and she became his patient. She was very satisfied with Dr. Driscoll. It was not easy to convince her because she is a nurse practitioner. She asked all her medical questions and got the answers she was looking for. Now if that’s not a vote of confidence than what is?

dr driscoll is a fine doctor of obvious knowledge and skill, and with an excellent bedside manner. questions are answered and procedures are explained. the medical assistants are also very good. the front desk staff seems the weak link in the chain, often impatient and conceptually challenged. otherwise very happy here!

Dr. Driscoll performed surgery on my eye. His consultation was professional however post op his office lost interest in the relationship. I was concerned about my progress and was brushed off and told to see my regular ophthalmologist. No follow up and no concern on my healing other than day of. 3 months later I receive a call for follow up, drove from Kona to have them say we don't do follow up. My vision was reduced and eye not great 4 months later. Seems like factory not healthcare.

I have never been treated so badly in a professional office in my life. Dr. Souza was an angry and unprofessional woman. She was rude and exhibited a very strange and hateful demeanor. It really is very unfortunate, as the rest of the staff was very pleasant and the office is equipped with very cutting-edge equipment for this island.

Having visited many eye clinics as my parents' caregiver and for myself, I find this clinic quite disappointing. The doctor seems proficient enough but his staff, other than the front desk, performed their jobs with contempt; there were no pleasantries and the few words said during the rushed through pre-exam were uttered with reluctance. Instruments weren?t wiped off before each use. The coordinator was keen on just following her standard spiels instead of helping me solve scheduling problems.
