Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Alterman "A modern Vascular Surgery practice requires care of the whole patient - not just a particular blood vessel.  My practice includes an individualized approach taking into consideration disease severity, comorbidities and patient preference.  In general, I try to treat everyone as if they were a member of my family and working together towards a common goal.

While I see many people each week with blockage of the leg arteries (i.e. a form of PAD), the goals are often very different.  Some people want to have more strength in their legs and walker farther while others desperately need to heal a diabetic wound.  These are key differences that dictate both the type of treatment and urgency of them.  This is the type of individualized treatment and respect you will receive under my care."
