No words can express what terrific surgeon/person she is I had a large polyp removed. 2 others said they had to remove part of my colon, wear a bag etc Dr Sands removed it without a hitch I was up and walking in a few hours no pain I actually questioned if anything was done. I just went back for my 4 month follow up today she got it all She is so compassionate, personable and walks you thru every step She was/is God sent. The other doctors did not acknowledge my partner/spouse she made sure she included her in our pre op and consolations and exam God Forbid you need a rectal surgeon look no further Dr. Sands is THE ONE

Fantastic!!! God orchestrated my meeting her. I had complications from a previous good surgery by another doctor. She fixed the three problems that weirdly popped up. She also really cares and explains everything very logically. I would recommend her again and again.

Dr. Sands operated on me almost 2 1/2 years ago. Fate brought us together. I learned of Dr. Sands from someone else, made an appointment (an hour away) and once we had our consult, I knew. At her suggestion, I scheduled surgery (scared as I was) ASAP, and I wanted her to do it. Unbeknownst to either of us, it turned into an 8 hour surgery! She found so many things that required attention and she repaired/corrected them ALL! And maybe best of all - for me - she did NOT leave me with a stoma! It was my biggest fear. While in recovery, I was still intubated and unable to speak, so I used a white board the nurses gave me to use. As disoriented as I was, I wanted to know if I was left with a stoma. When Dr, Sands told me “no, you don’t”, my eyes welled up, and flowed with tears, I scribbled a message of thanks on the white board, Dr. Sands got a little teary and hugged me. It was a deeply moving moment, I will never forget as long as I live.

Dr. Sands was part of a team that operated on me at Cleveland Clinic. She was in charge of my discharge. She didn't ask me what pain medicines worked for me and wrote a script to one that makes me nauseous, thus when I arrived home I had no pair medications that I could take and was in great distress. All she had to have done was ask me about what pain medications I did well on. This oversight caused me great pain and distress and was totally unnecessary. Guess she couldn't have been bothered.

Dr. Sands and her team were amazing. She took the time to really walk through the procedure with me and the office was always very caring and responsive with all of my post-op questions. I generally have a lot of anxiety with doctors and she made me feel at ease.

It was my first time seeing Dr. Sands. I thought she was extremely knowledgeable. I had to travel an hour to see her, and it was well worth it. Although the body part that needed diagnosis made me feel very anxious about seeing a doctor, the visit with Dr. Sands couldn't have been any better. In the end she made me feel like it was no big deal. Just love her! I will highly recommend her to my family and friends.
