Dr. Dana P. Piasecki, MD helped discover a painful and large cyst in the back of my left knee while I was competing for the Queens University of Charlotte Triathlon Team. After undergoing surgery, within 7 months I had set a new lifetime best (even faster than before surgery) thanks to how well he performed the surgery. He is incredible at his attention to detail and explaining things in a way I could understand them. Furthermore, his character is outstanding as someone I could tell truly wanted me to be fully healed just as badly as I wanted to myself. I now live on the West Coast but if I ever needed another surgery I recommend Dr Piasecki so much that I personally would fly out to CLT to have him operate on me again. Phenomenal surgeon, even better person.

Love Dr. Piasecki and the team over at OrthoCarolina! Have had 2 surgeries from Dr. Piasecki and would highly recommend him! He specializes in shoulder, knee, & elbow so you can guess that I have had 2 of the 3! Pray for me that he doesn’t have to comp me the 3rd surgery! Avoid getting hurt, but if it is too late then make sure you keep up with your Physical Therapy!

Dr. Piasecki was very thorough in this- my first- exam. He reviewed history of shoulder injuries and listened to my experiences. He educated me in possible character of my present injury and he understood extent of my pain and my limitations (which pointed to need for further testing). He gave complete attention to my concerns and my questions, He was accompanied by his “Fellow” who also contributed greatly in ascertaining degree and character of my shoulder. He was totally focused on determining the nature of my injury and spent adequate time dedicated to the exam that indicated a next step. I was, additionally, given assurance of a quick look at next test results. Very compassionate and pleasant personality.

I was seen , had X-rays , had questions about my X-ray that were never followed up on . I was also told he was going to give me a prescription , never got that either . I called and left a message never got a return call on that either .. I was very disappointed when I left his office . He was late coming in to see me ( I understand he’s very busy because he’s good) I felt he was very hurried that day .. I do not like leaving bad reviews but this one is needed …

Dr. Piasecki is fantastic to work with. After tearing my medial and lateral meniscus, he recommended PT before even thinking about surgery. I really appreciated that approach. I've responded very well to PT and we decided surgery, at this time, is not necessary. He's very easy to work with, and even collaborated with my hip surgeon from the same practice. He really ensured we were addressing the injury holistically and not just focused on my knee. My only recommendation to new patients, schedule in the mornings, and avoid Friday evenings- his calendar is very aggressive!

Dr. Piasecki is a thoughtful listener, and I appreciate that he includes me in the decision making of my care. Having treatment options for a non-emergent injury allows me to pursue an optimal outcome that fits my lifestyle. Not only is he a super nice guy, but his bedside manner allayed the fear I had going in. I feel confident I have the best orthopedic surgeon in Charlotte.
