I've known Dr. Young for about 20 years. Over that time, he has done 4 successfull arthroscopic surgeries on both shoulders and my left knee. I first tore the meniscus in my left knee about 10 years ago & recently reinjured it. I continue to have problems with my left knee, but the blame lies with me. Dr. Young always started conservatively and only recommended surgery as a last alternative. I would recommend Dr. Young without hesitation. (However, office staff - not always helpful).

I have not had major surgery by Dr. Young. But, I've been going to him for shots in my shoulders and all I can say is I'm confident in what I've experience so far in 4 years. Plus, he has great bedside manors.
Gary - Thank you for the kind words! I will pass along to everyone here. Best, Sarah

Dr. Young is an incredible orthopedic shoulder doctor. He had operated on both shoulders with excellent results. I have been give back full range of motion, even with a torn rotator cuff. Dr. Young listened to my symptoms, had the correct test completed and scheduled surgery quickly to relieve my pain. He is very cordial making me feel like I had his full attention at each visit. The follow up care was excellent/
We appreciate you sharing these kind words with us and are happy to hear that you had a positive experience!

After several pre-op visits with Dr. Young, he still managed to schedule me for the WRONG surgery. Fortunately, during the pre-op meeting with the anesthesiologist just minutes before being transported into the OR, we realized the error and the correct surgery was performed. Please do your research before allowing this man to perform surgery on you or a loved one.
We are so sorry for your experience. Please call our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. John Bowman, to discuss further. He stands ready to speak with you and can be reached at 804-560-5017. Best, Sarah
Dr. Young has performed two of my ACL reconstructive surgeries. The first was a complete success without any hiccups. The second was also a success on his part but I later developed compartment syndrome from a DVT (blood clot). There was an extremely small chance of this happening and forces outside of his control caused it. He did not cause this in anyway and it was in now way his fault. The level of treatment he gave me when this happened was as if I was his own son. I highly recommend him.
