Was scheduled for surgery but he didn't bother to show up. I laid and waited for 5 hours but no word from Dr. Allen. So I decided to leave and reschedule but instead he discontinued me as a patient for non compliance of medical care. He's a very rude doctor and caused me a lot of pain and only stopped hurting me after I was sobbing and just couldn't take no more. I believe if you schedule someone for surgery you should show up or let the nurses know why you aren't there and maybe when you willbe

Dr. Allan is great!! He's truly a professional! He's "smooth " with those cortisone shots! Very very very minimal pain. He's truly the best!! Five stars!!!
in Decatur, IL |
I have recommended Dr Allan to every one I know. He is an excellent surgeon !! I had a hip replaced and was out in two days - walking with no pain. He tells me about my status and never 'sugar-coats' it (love it!). AND he listens to my concerns......... Jane McMaken
in Pawnee, IL |
I walked the day of surgery. I went home the next day. I didn't need any aid to walk. Dr. Allen is the best surgeon in Springfield.
Springfield, IL |
I was very satisfied with Dr. Allan and his staff. He is a terrific surgeon, and he needs to be commended for a job well done.
in Sullivan, IL |
Dr. Allan is very good at what he does. True he may not talk much, but if you ask the right questions, you will get a straight answer.
in Macomb, IL |
Everyone was very friendly, except Dr. Allan seemed to be in a bad mood and in a big hurry. He didn't seem real pleased to talk or answer questions and when he did his response was somewhat rude, very blunt.
in Niantic, IL |
I liked him very much, yes he doesn't say alot but a very good Doctor. My knee is doing much better still doing phycial therphy. He has friendly people that work with him. Very pleased with him, and his staff would highly recommend him.
in Jacksonville, IL |
I liked him very much, yes he doesn't say alot but a very good Doctor. My knee is just perfect. He has friendly people that work with him. Very pleased with him, and his staff
in Springfield, IL |
While Dr. Allan's Bedside Manner is not known to be the most friendliest, he is not a G.P., he is a surgeon, and probably the best orthopedic surgeon in the mid Illinois area. I don't go to him to tell him about all my ills, I go to him when it has been determined that I need an operation...and for a Hip replacement, Knee replacement, Shoulder reconstruction, there is no one that is better in the Springfield or surrounding area.
|
He has no bedside manner, is rude, and does not provide thorough follow up care. I would not recommend him for care at all. I was surprised to find he has not be sanctioned due to his lack of care.

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.
