He is a very good surgeon. You have to ask questions to learn anything because he is not very forthcoming on information. Doesn't bother me. I'd rather have a great surgeon than a mediocre one that talks more. He has done my knees and one hip and will soon do the other hip.

If you need just a hip or knee replacement he is a great surgeon, but if you have any complications or infections, go some place else. He never was able to determine what was wrong and was in over his head. He does not like to answer questions. If I ever have a Doctor not talk to me, I will look for a different Doctor very quickly.

Discharged after hip replacement surgery less than 24 hours after the surgery. I have not needed pain medication since before leaving the hospital. Other than the expected swelling and bruising, I've had no problems. Carried my walker into the house and haven't used it since. I've slept without pain waking me up for the first time in 2 years. Only wish Dr. Allan had done the surgery sooner.

Dr Allen believers in getting you moving the day of surgery. Which I did and continued to this day a year later. He prescribed 6 wks of therapy and exercise at home which is a must. I can do most everything I want to do. I had put the surgery off for about 5 years. I will not do that if I have a problem with my left knee. I will call Dr Allen.

Dr. Allen and his great staff performed two hip replacements on me. I was able to have the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing which allows me to be a bit more athletic as I still have a few active years ahead of me. I could not be happier! Highly Recommend!!

Was scheduled for surgery but he didn't bother to show up. I laid and waited for 5 hours but no word from Dr. Allen. So I decided to leave and reschedule but instead he discontinued me as a patient for non compliance of medical care. He's a very rude doctor and caused me a lot of pain and only stopped hurting me after I was sobbing and just couldn't take no more. I believe if you schedule someone for surgery you should show up or let the nurses know why you aren't there and maybe when you willbe

I have recommended Dr Allan to every one I know. He is an excellent surgeon !! I had a hip replaced and was out in two days - walking with no pain. He tells me about my status and never 'sugar-coats' it (love it!). AND he listens to my concerns......... Jane McMaken
