AWESOME! Such a genuinely nice person. I was afraid because of my diagnosis. She explained things well. She gave me options. We did surgery and things went great. They are a very busy clinic.

Love her. I was very nervous about my diagnosis, but she made me feel comfortable about it. Surgery went great.
in Memphis, TN |
wonderful doctor. great surgeon.I have been to 2 other physicians for my larynx cancer. She answered all my questions. I learned more from my first visit with her than I learned in all my visits with the other two physicians. I was very pleased with the overall experience.

I would absolutely recommend her to anyone with throat cancer. I have seen 3 other doctors who told me my surgery was more than they could handle. She was honest with me and told me the chance at cure. Things went well and I have completed therapy. There may be a little bit of a wait in clinic to see her, but this is because many people need her help. She is a subspecialist and regular ENT doctors can't do what she can do. I drive 2 hours to see her, and it is well worth the drive. Love her!!

Very compassionate. I was very afraid when I found out I had mouth cancer. She was a very calming factor and made me feel very at ease. Her staff was very kind. Wonderful experience.
in Dyersburg Tn |
Dr Shires was actually the fourth specialist I was referred to see for my papillary carcinoma (thyroid cancer) I was a very complicated case because I had a heart attack prior to my diagnosis and was on plavic and a aspirin regimen. I was told by a Surgeon in Dyersburg that if I had the surgery I would die because I was not able to stop the blood thinners but when I seen Dr Shires she made my family and I feel so comfortable with my treatment plan and my surgery was a success Dr Shires rocks!!!
in Cordova, TN |
Wonderful! Can not say enough good things about her. I had a very advanced cancer and was very scared to see a physician. She is very personable and calmed my nerves. She was a very refreshing face to see. I finished treatment, and could not have made it without her.
in Memphis, TN |
Very kindhearted person and willing to explain things to me in a simple manner. Would definitely recommend to family or friends. I also did very well after surgery.
Surgery seemed good but office visits are absolutely awful
in Memphis |
She and her colleagues did surgery on my broken jaw. I was referred to them by the hospital emergency room doctor in Aug 2014. After arch bars and screws, my jaw was not set properly so I had no bite. I can not use my front teeth to bite at all. My lower jaw healed too high in the back and slightly caved in on the right side. Braces cannot fix that so I am facing another surgery.
in Myrtle, MS |
Dr. Shires has been working with Dr. Fowler on my case. She has done an excellent job of keeping me comfortable and explaining my condition. She always walks in the room with a smile and is sure to listen and answer every question. After she performed a surgery in December 2015 she immediately got me back the next day for ct scan. The staff is friendly and so sweet. I actually drive 2 1/2 hours to be seen there.
