He is condescending, curt and displays no empathy whatsoever for the patient. For a person with severe and chronic pain, he is absolutely the worse. What a shame.

They don’t come more experienced than Dr O’Neill. Yet he retains a humility that is difficult to find in many doctors, much less an expert at the top of his speciality. He explains things well and remembers the niceties that engender the trust of his patients

I met with Dr. O'Neill at UCSF's Mission Bay Spine Center today to review results of a recent MRI. I was quite impressed. He took time to review the MRI results with me, then showed me the MRI images and explained the sources of concern. Courteous, caring, expert.
