Dr. Wellborn is a pleasant and caring surgeon. He was referred to us through Michigan State University based on their research of the best joint replacement Doctors in the DMV area. He lived up to the billing. I can't imagine a better practitioner. In addition, he is patient and willing to put those he is serving at ease with thorough explanations and involvement. Lastly, the Virginia Hospital environment in which he works provides a wonderful environment for recovery.

....Two months after a very successful hip replacement surgery.... I am very grateful to Dr. Wellborn for his masterful expertise, confidence and support... Everything turned out as ordinary as he indicated... In my case there was no pain or major discomfort (beyond the swelling of the affected muscles) I wholeheartedly & highly recommend him to anyone...! The office staff and the Physical Therapy group also, did a thorough professional job... I thank them as well..

I was blown away when Dr. Wellborn asked me ?What else?? at the end of our visit. Most doctors these days spend little time with patients ? not Dr. Wellborn. He was an attentive listener, asked lots of questions, and showed true concern. Finally, he offered to help me get more physical therapy visits authorized by my insurance. I am lucky to have Dr. Wellborn caring for my total knee replacement, a procedure I did with an out-of-town surgeon, something that didn't seem to bother him at all.
