Cletus A. Arciero, MD, FACS, is an Associate Professor in the Division of Surgical Oncology of the Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. A decorated U.S. Army Colonel, Dr. Arciero joins Emory after serving as Chief of General Surgery and Surgical Oncology, as well as the General Surgery Residency Program Director, at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He also served as Chief of Surgery in Kuwait with the 452nd Combat Support Hospital, and twice in Iraq with the 31st Combat Support Hospital and 256th Combat Support Hospital, respectively. He recently completed nine years as an American Cancer Society Commission on Cancer Liaison Physician. At Emory, he is a breast surgeon for the Surgical Oncology Division within Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, practicing at both Emory Johns Creek Hospital and Emory University Hospital. Dr. Arciero serves as the Program Director of the Emory Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program. He is the representative of the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. Dr. Arciero is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the Society of Surgical Oncologist. He holds professional memberships with the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the United States Military Cancer Institute. In 2017, he was selected to the Emory Medicine Professional Leadership Enrichment and Development Program.
