First visit for very large prostate (BPH) from out of town. Got to clinic 1 hour earlier than appt and was seen right away. Dr. Roehrborn conducted 3 tests that were never performed by any other medical centers in my area, and he was able to determine best procedure for my condition. Provided documentation on procedure and did some further research on what to expect. Plenty of info on YouTube.

I believe Dr. Claus Roehrborn of UT Southwestern is one of the best five doctors in the country to perform a robotic radical prostatectomy. He has performed over 2,800 of these surgeons. I had one of the most aggressive prostate cancers you can have…a tertiary 5…with a Gleason Score of 8 to 9. The major risks of this surgery are (1) getting all of the cancer, (2) incontinence and (3) restoration of sexual function. My surgery was extremely successful and I fully recovered and my life was totally back to normal in 4-5 weeks after surgery. I am 61 years old and generally in excellent health. I realize others have had this surgery and not ever achieved a full recovery, and for that I thank Dr. Roehrborn and believe I was also very fortunate and blessed. My quality of life is excellent!!!

Dr Roehrborn is the best choice if you need to undergo a radical prostatectomy. He was friendly and accessible during the entire process. My procedure went as planned and I had a quick recovery with few side effects.

My father had an aggressive prostate cancer but wasn't a good candidate for the normal surgical approach or for radiation, and hormone therapy stopped working. My dad met with about a dozen doctors who couldn't help him. Only Dr. Roehrborn took the time to research options and find a solution: an out-of-state doctor who knew a rare technique that would work for my dad. My dad is now cancer-free thanks to Dr. Roehrborn's refusal to settle for 'sorry, I can't help you'.

I could not have been happier with Dr. Roehrborn and his team. Although he is the head of the department, he gave us his personal cell phone to contact at any time, and that means alot. Most importantly, the surgery went as expected and given that it was nerve sparing, that is very important!

My experience with Dr Roehrborn is limited to the first visit, which despite some communication problem with Dr Kibbey in Amarillo, was reasonably approached by Roehrborn and frankly discussed in order to gain perspective on my very extensive and complicated medical history and problems.

Very impressed with Dr Roehrborn. Dr Roehrborn met with my wife and me on our first appointment, explained the surgery he would perform and what to expect afterwards. The day of surgery he came in and explained in detail what he would be doing. During surgery his nurse called my wife in the waiting room to tell her surgery had begun. Halfway through surgery he personally called my wife to give her an update, and called again to say surgery was done and all well. Personal and comforting!

Dr. Roehrborn did not see me personally prior to day of surgery. He had PA's handle everything and then the surgery caused Peyronie's. Horrible bedside manner at hospital. I wasn't given all the information I needed at the time. Horrible outcome.
