Dr. Young's Care Philosophy

I come from a big family. I'm one of ten children. My father was a general surgeon in Texarkana for 44 years. There were 8 boys and 2 girls. All 8 boys eventually followed in dad's footsteps and went to medical school and became physicians. So there's five orthopaedic surgeons, two ER doctors and one equine vet. Dad just made medicine look like a great way to serve our community. That's what he did, serve our community. I remember as a little boy watching him talk to his patients and thought, "I just want to be that guy." It's important to me that people that come to see me know I am going to take as good care of them as I can and hope they have a good outcome. I will work as hard as I can to make sure they have a good outcome. I'm a general orthopaedic surgeon, so I do shoulder replacements, both standard and reverse, rotator cuffs, labial repairs, total knees, total hips, partial knees, partial hips based on what type fracture they have, sports medicine, ACL reconstruction, knee scopes, carpel tunnels, trigger fingers and then all trauma that comes in.

Dr. Chris Young is an excellent physician. He has served our community greatly. He has taken care of my family and I for multiple things over the years. I highly recommend him and his judgement. He genuinely has the patient's best interest at heart and wants to help people be comfortable in their future through his knowledge of orthopedic medicine.

I have a hard time calling Chris Young doctor. He did bilateral partial knee replacement on me and broke my leg. It took 3 weeks for him to realize this because after surgery we saw his assistant. After numerous trips to the office and er he finally discovered my tibia was split from the top. The pain was excruciating. He said "I guess I hit it too hard" He also said "I thought you were just being a baby"! He had to replace the knee and fix the broken leg. Then infection set in. Beware!

My son broke his arm, right above his elbow, and needed pins placed in his arm. Dr. Young took such great care of my 5 year old and had a great sense of humor, which allowed my son to relax and not have any anxiety thru the surgery & weeks of appointments to follow. I would most definitely recommend Dr. Young!

Dr. Young is an amazing doctor. He performed surgery on my husband and did a great job. What I liked the most about him is that he actually cares about his patients. After the surgery he came out and explained the whole procedure. He took the time to talk to me and answer any questions I had about the surgery. He made me feel like family. If we had more doctors like him the world would be a better place. Thank you Dr. Young.

Dr. Chris Young is an excellent surgeon, doctor, and caring physician. He will listen, and take care of your every symptom. His surgical techniques at clean and as minimal as possible. I know him personally as well as being my (Go To) surgeon. Don't want anyone else cutting on me if possible.

Dr. Young is an AMAZING Orthopedic Surgeon who has not only provided excellent care to my husband but has been an encouragement to both of us and treated us as if we were family! Dr Young was contacted via CHI St. Vincent when my husband needed immediate care regarding the palm of his left hand. Dr. Young's aggressive approach to James' hand was an indication to us that we could be confident of his plan for successful surgery. We are extremely impressed with Dr. Young's CARE as a physician!!
