Second time, still the best surgeon!
I highly recommend Dr. Woodson! Dr. Woodson performed a rotator cuff repair after I was attacked by a tree. It was so bad that he had to use cadaver tissue for the repair. The surgery was a great success, and recovery went much better than I anticipated. For context, this is the second shoulder/bicep that Dr. Woodson has repaired, and both turned out great. The doctor is not only a great surgeon, but he is personable and listens well. The staff is also very professional and helpful. While I don’t want to damage any other soft tissue, I know where to go if it happens lol. A few tips: - Get the ice machine. Worth every penny, especially for those first 3 days. - Follow the instructions for post-surgery care and specific exercises. - Do the physical therapy, all the way through month six. This is the most important thing after the surgery itself. I was much more disciplined the second time, and it made a big difference! - And a shout out to Newport Physical Therapy!

Dr. Woodson is one of the top surgeons in the state. But what makes him distinguished from any other doctor is his attention to his patients. He never leaves his patients alone with their, often big, frightening problem. Dr. Woodson takes active part in their recovery, helping them in any way possible. In my case Dr Woodson thought out-of-the-box to use surgical ideas in order to save my knee and allow me to lead active lifestyle. Any of my concerns have always been addressed with great attention. Additional x rays, ct scans were available any time he thought they might help make right decisions for rehabilitation. I had back problem causing me a lot of pain and, although it was not his specialty, Dr Woodson provided a referral for a back mri, discussed it with me afterwards when I came to check the knee progress. Dr. Woodson’s area of expertise is extensive and he has empathy and desire to help his patient.

Fantastic ortho! I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone. He did my shoulder surgery but he does almost everything. He truly cares about each and every patient and I had a 5 star outcome. He is also very nice. Do whatever you have to in order to make him your surgeon. He is the TOP DOG!

pkr finally healed after 2 years. I was too aggressive on it the first 5 months (jogging and pivoting). they said I could go swimming after 5 weeks so I jumped on my surfboard and went swimming. no twisting or pivoting for the first 12 weeks is what google said. I tweaked it 3 times in the first 5 months by twisting , pivoting and limped for a month after moving my house. LET IT HEALLLLLLL to all the active people.

Dr. Woodson replaced my knee on 11/1/18. At Los ALAMITOS Med Center. It was as excellent experience all around. I love my new knee. Dr. Woodson was professional, open about what to expect and honest about what I was facing. I followed his instructions and have a great outcome. The program at Los Al, called the Triple Crown Commitment, is amazingly focused on helping achieve the best patient outcomes. I have recommended Dr. Woodson and Los Al a number of times already

Dr. Woodson and his staff were top notch and I would highly recommend them for anyone in need of orthopedic surgery. Dr. Woodson took the time to answer all of my questions and explained my injury and his approach very clearly which made me feel comfortable choosing him for my surgery. The surgery coordinator Estela whom I worked with was very helpful in getting everything I needed situated in a timely fashion and the rest of the staff that I interacted with were very professional. I recently had hip replacement surgery and am now walking, without pain and almost off a cane in just under 5 weeks. I cannot recommend Dr. Woodson, his staff. the Los Alamitos Hospital and their program highly enough. I am 73 and am returning to work -- clinical psychologist in private practice - and driving easily tomorrow! Cannot be more pleased - and relieved.

Dr. Woodson is wonderful! I have had two knee replacements (two years apart). I had been putting the first surgery off for 18 years. Decided to have the surgery when I couldn't keep up with the grandchildren and I have had no complications. I can now walk and stand without pain. Dr. Woodson was chosen by me because of his fellowship with Dr. Jackson, retired. Dr. Woodson comes in and sits down and listens. I had the occasion to meet his parents and he is a chip off the block. They were so nice.

What a wonderful experience with Dr. Woodson and his staff. The most pleasant, informative and caring Dr.s office I've been to Dr. Woodson is the BEST, I had 3 referrals for my knee replacement and of course I will refer anyone for his orthopedic help. He is so worth the drive if you live out of town. Estella , his office manager is the absolute BEST. She goes out of her way for patients, and really cares. She is a sweetheart and a gem. I am so very grateful for this Dr. Love & blessing Dr. W

Dr. Woodson is the best! He has the best bedside manner and takes time with his patients. I have never had a bad visit with Dr. Woodson or his office and I've been seeing him for years. Usually it's a chore coming to the doctor, but with Dr. Woodson you feel you're visiting a family member. Great doctor, great staff, great care!

Dr. Woodson performed a total hip replacement on me. I have had other surgical procedures in the past by other doctors, this hip procedure was the smoothest and non-problematic I have ever had. He instills great confidence and trust in treatment. I would recommend him way above any other surgeon I have ever dealt with.
