This content was provided by Dr. Walton "Dr. Walton earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile. He then spent a year studying at the renowned Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University. After returning to the Southeast, Dr. Walton received his formal Residency training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He then completed specialized fellowship training in corneal surgery and refractive surgery at Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Very few doctors have this dual training, and it has helped Dr. Walton become recognized as one of the premier refractive surgeons on the Gulf Coast. Each year, Dr. Walton continues to participate in continuing education courses in order to remain current on the latest techniques and technologies in the field of ophthalmology. As a result of this ongoing training, Dr. Walton has become one of the only eye surgeons in Mobile to utilize some of the most advanced technology available, including: Allegretto Wave® Wavelight® excimer laser system for LASIK LenSx® laser for cataract surgery Visian ICL Dr. Walton is a Mobile native, and he feels strongly about giving back to his community. He works with the National Children's Advocacy Center (NCAC), located in Huntsville, Alabama. The NCAC provides services to child abuse victims across the country. Dr. Walton's primary efforts in association with the NCAC involve working with disadvantaged children in the Mobile area."
