This content was provided by Dr. Shumake "Dr. Christopher Shumake joined the staff of the Florida Eye Institute in July of 2015.Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, he earned his bachelor and medical degrees from the University of Mississippi. Following his medical internship at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Dr. Shumake returned to Jackson Mississippi to complete his ophthalmology residency at Ole Miss, where he was elected Chief Resident and received the Louisiana & Mississippi Otolaryngology/Ophthalmology Award. With a special interest in corneal disease and transplant surgery, Dr. Shumake was selected by Duke University in Durham, North Carolina for Fellowship training. He has performed custom cataract, laser, and corneal transplant-surgery for over 25 years."
