About Me

Biography

Christopher R, Mascarenhas MD, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Columbia University. He is trained in all aspects of colon and rectal surgery with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery, and robotic colorectal surgery. He routinely uses these techniques for a variety of different conditions. Dr. Mascarenhas has undergone advanced training in complex re-operative surgery for advanced inflammatory bowel disease, which includes ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. He see patients in several locations in New York and New Jersey as part of the Division of Colorectal Surgery at NYP/Columbia. Dr. Mascarenhas has an interest in surgery for diverticulitis, anorectal surgery, pelvic floor disorders, pouch creation, colorectal cancer resection, transanal minimally-invasive and transanal total mesorectal excision surgery techniques.Less...
