Dr. Flowers graduated Magna Cum Laude from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA where he received a BS in biology, with a minor in mathematics. Dr. Flowers went on to receive his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, where he received Ashbel Smith Distinguished Alumnus Award, presented by Dean of Student Affairs and then completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. Immediately following residency, he completed a combined sports medicine fellowship at The University of Texas at Houston and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. During his time in Houston, Dr. Flowers was an assistant to the team physician for the Houston Texans, Rockets, Astros, Dynamos and the University of Houston Cougars, as well as the primary team doctor for C.E. King High School athletics. Dr. Flowers is a 4th generation physician from Plano, Texas, where he graduated from Plano Senior High School – Go Wildcats! Dr. Flowers has two brothers; his oldest brother took the bar exam to become a lawyer, and his younger brother is a high school football coach in Louisiana. His mother is a professor of psychology at Richland College, and his father is retired while enjoying being a substitute teacher in his free time. Dr. Flowers is a sports enthusiast and enjoys learning and participating in all types of sports from basketball to football to golf. Dr. Flowers is a current member of the Texas Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Flowers is the team physician for Brawsell High School in Denton, Texas – Go Bengals! This year he will also be assisting in the care of UNT athletics. He cares for athletes
