I am now almost 3 years s/p L-3-5 spinal fusion performed by Dr. Bono and forever grateful for the care and expertise I received from Dr. Bono, Cara, (PA) and the entire peri-operative nursing staff. There could be no greater orthopedic surgeon with the ability to clearly present a critical pathway for care, patiently guide patients throughout the surgical experience and provide efficient follow up care.

Dr. Bono instilled confidence from first meeting, which was totally justified. He did a flawless spinal fusion and laminectomy on my lower spine whenI was 78 years old. I no longer suffer the symptoms that kept me from a normal life. I am extremely grateful to him.

Best spine doctor in Boston. Always takes the time to listen. The nurses all say he is a great surgeon.
in Dover, NH |
Dr. Bono is incredible. Very easy to get an appointment. He and his PA are both great. Once the decision was made to do surgery, it was scheduled within 3 weeks (and his office apologized for the delay; it would have been 2 weeks if Dr. Bono hadn't been gone to a conference). I had my surgery last week. No more pain in my leg whatsoever; the only pain I have is surgical pain in my back, which will pass. My entire hospital experience was wonderful- I would highly recommend Dr. Bono and BWH.

Dr Bono was outstanding. He diagnosed my spine condition and recommended spinal fusion. He told me I'd lose about 10% of my mobility and that the surgery had an 85% chance of success. I will always have some level of back pain due to several conditions, but I have had a huge improvement and would highly recommend Dr Bono. He is not only educated and knowledgeable, but personable as well. I may need more surgery in the future and wouldn't go anywhere but to Dr Bono.
in Sharon, MA |
The worst experience of my life. I trusted Dr. Bono and I came out worst then when I went in. I was 37 when I had my lower lumbar spinal fusion due to a herniated disc. I suffered for 4 more years. I had x rays and every other test.I was told repeatedly I had fused. Then I could not bear weight on my left leg and had excruciating back pain .Finally I went to The New England Baptist Hospital .I was told by my surgeon that I never fused. I then had to have a revision, taking it up anther level!!!
