He replaced my knee in late 2016. I faithfully did ALL my PT afterwards and my results were excellent! However now I’m looking into custom knees, the ones that are measured beforehand for a custom fit. I have a friend who just got one of those (the type he got was “Conformis”) and his recovery was MUCH swifter than what I experienced with an off the shelf knee. My friend only spent ONE night at the Brigham, rather than my THREE at the Baptist, which was standard, and is walking without a cane after only five days and off narcotics. It’s a pretty shocking difference from my recovery (I needed narcotics @ 3 weeks) and he’s heavier +older than I was. So I’m looking into a custom fit knee the next time, (they were FDA approved in 2011, not sure why I wasn’t told about this choice) but would use Dr Sam if he does the custom fit “pre-measured” type in addition to the “regular” type which is what I had. They cut less so you recover faster w few drugs i was told. I’m looking into it.

I had bilateral hip replacements within three months, and thanks to the direct anterior procedure Dr. Sambaziotis exclusively implements, I was on my feet within an hour of the procedure in both cases, and physically prepared for hospital discharge the same day. This is a well-trained, aggressive surgeon who uses best practice techniques to enable rapid recovery and functionality for his patients. I was able to stop using crutch support within 24 hours. Surgeons of this skill level matter!

I had my right anterior hip replacement performed by Dr. Sambaziotis at the Baptist on August 16, 2017. He’s a terrific, talented, but humble surgeon. I researched hospitals and surgeons and I was impressed that he has a Master’s in Public Health, besides his other degrees. This tells me he cares about people. He’s replacing my left hip this February. I praise him to everyone.

Doctor Chris Sambaziotis replaced my left hip. He is fantastic. The operation changed my life. My hip feels like new. No pain and I can do everything and anything I want. I can’t say enough about how great Dr. Sambaziotis took care of me through the entire procedure. Dr. Sambaziotis took the time to make sure I understood all my options and explained what I would experience after the operation. I feel great. I highly recommend Doctor Chris Sambaziotis. He cares about you and does great work

In February 2014 he performed a double knee replacement surgery for me (at age 68) at New England Baptist Hospital. The procedure, immediate recovery and initial rehab were flawless. After four days in NE Baptist and ten days of inpatient elsewhere, I walked out to my home and outpatient rehab. I long ago resumed all physical activity including walking golf and vigorous ice skating. His skills and care were outstanding.

Dr. Sam has now replaced both of my knees, and I can't be happier! Surgery went well, recovery was speedy. Scarring minimal; some people say they can't see the scars from 3 feet away. Bedside and office manner is friendly and professional. He answered all my questions, explains things such that I'd understand them. I don't (yet) need any hips replaced, but when I do, I know I'm going with Dr. Sam again.

I had a very successful knee replacement. Dr. Sambaziotis explained the procedure fully and explained the recovery process and treatments as well. I am very pleased with the result. The surgery relieved the pain that I have suffered for more than 10 years and I am able to enjoy life again. I need to do my other knee and I will ask Dr. S. to do that surgery as well. I have recommended him to anyone who asks me about my surgery.
