This content was provided by Dr. Wey "I encourage patients to be advocates in their own healthcare. I believe in preventative medicine and making sure patients are up to date with the screening exams and tests that are recommended. Nowadays with the Internet, many patients are able to research their symptoms before the visit and come in with a list of concerns/questions. My role is to help guide and educate them on what are real symptoms and signs to be concerned about, and what pertinent and appropriate diagnostic work up is needed. I feel it is important to listen as patients voice their concerns and to validate any fears/concerns they have and then work together to address the medical issue. We use electronical medical records in our clinic so we do release labs and reports to their private online account and we would always call if there was something critical that same day. I practice medicine the way I would want someone to do if they were caring for me or my family member."
