Dr. Soma says

We welcome the feedback our patients provide via this and other websites reporting on healthcare delivery, while recognizing that some people are justifiably disappointed when seeking a specific opinion or approach to care that may not be shared by Dr. Soma, and for these patients, we always recommend a second opinion before giving up on the advice given following consultation in our office, if the visit was an unpleasant one for any reason.

As in many orthopedic surgery offices, wait times may vary depending on the time of day and the need for Dr. Soma to provide emergency care when on call for the emergency department at Maui Memorial Medical center, where wait times are often several hours during peak visitor traffic periods and holidays.

Please do not hesitate to voice your concerns to us during or after the office visit, so that we may insure a healthy and mutually beneficial relationship with our practice going forward.  We strive to make our patients more than satisfied that we have gone the extra mile to insure your health is as good is it can be.

Was very pleased with Dr. Soma and his staff. Could not have asked to have been treated any better. All issues addressed and we felt as ease.
in Maui, Hi |
Visited for back pain. Visit #1 wasn't especially helpful, but he ordered appropriate tests. Visit #2 was helpful and he spent a good amount of time with xray results and correctly diagnosed my problem. Prescribed medication was hugely helpful. Good experience overall. However, he is massively overbooked and both visits took at least 2-3 hours - most of which was in waiting. Office staff was courteous, although harried. Difficult to get documentation for insurance claims.

Conditions Treated

Dr. Soma says..

Dr. Soma utilizes in office ultrasound imaging for more immediate and cost effective diagnosis and treatment of soft tissue injury, which often speeds healing by giving us an answer to difficult questions about the nature of the reason for the pain that keeps us from experiencing life.  Injection therapy using the natural healing of our own platelets (PRP) as well as viscosupplementation for knee, shoulder, and ankle conditions is another specialty in our practice.  Perhaps the most important reason to come to our office is a no nonsense approach to conditions that need simple treatment such as specific exercises, employing our local physical therapists when needed, to get you back to living your life pain free.
