Dr. Charles Procter has been specializing in weight loss surgery since starting his practice in 2007. After completing his surgical training at the University of Kentucky and the Greenville (SC) Health System he spent his first five years of practice with Obesity Solutions in Gainesville, Georgia. In 2012, Dr. Procter moved his practice to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. His practice, Beltline Bariatric and Surgical Group, focuses on advanced minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic techniques as well as endoscopic options for surgical weight loss. Since 2012, Dr. Procter has converted much of his surgical practice to the DaVinci robotic platform. With this, patients enjoy reduced morbidity and quicker recovery with shorter hospital stays. He is a local trainer for the DaVinci robotic surgical system and has been a speaker for Intuitive Surgical, manufacturer of the DaVinci Surgical Robotic System, as well as Applied Medical. Patients from throughout the southeast have sought out Dr. Procter's services in primary and revisional weight loss and hernia surgery. Beltline Bariatrics is one of the very few weight loss surgery practices in the southeast to offer safe and affordable outpatient laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy in his adjoining state-of-the-art surgical center. Currently, he is the ONLY surgeon in the state offering non-anatomy altering weight loss therapy via vagal nerve blocking therapy with the VBLOC device. His office is located near Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia and Newnan, Georgia. He also has expertise in the area of abdominal wall reconstruction. Over the last four years, Dr. Procter has worked diligently to establish the first tertiary referral center in the state of Georgia for complex abdominal hernia repair. In his spare time, Dr. Procter enjoys keeping busy with his wife and three boys.
