I am originally from the Atlanta area. I graduated in 1987 from the Georgia Institute of Technology with highest honors with a degree in Biology. I then attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham and graduated in 1991 with honors. Following medical school, I completed an Orthopaedic Surgery residency program at the Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta from 1991 to 1996 with my final year functioning as a chief resident. I began practice in Lawrenceville, Georgia with Resurgens Orthopaedics in 1996 and became board certified in 1998. I was then re-certified with a Sports Medicine specialty board in 2008 and ultimately took the Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine in 2008, as well. I have served Gwinnett County and surrounding areas over the past 17 years and have been the team orthopaedic surgeon for multiple high schools around Gwinnett County including serving as the team physician for Greater Atlanta Christian School since 1997. My goal for treatment is a compassionate and honest approach to my patients with a Christ-centered world view to achieve optimum outcomes and results. I try to treat my patients fairly and with the same approach that I would my family and close friends. Many orthopaedic injuries can be treated nonsurgically, while others may require basic or technologically advanced surgical procedures to achieve the best results. I will strive to provide you with as much information as possible to ensure that you and I together will make an informed decision concerning your best treatment options. I am particularly interested in the treatment of shoulder and knee injuries, which include but are not limited to shoulder instability, rotator cuff and labral tears, ACL tears, meniscal tears, tennis elbow, cartilage replacement procedures, meniscal transplants, unicompartmental knee replacement, and a variety of sports medicine injuries. When surgery is required, I use arthroscopic or minimally invasive open technique whenever possible. Throughout each year, I participate in continuing medical education courses to ensure that I can provide the latest advances in orthopaedic care to you, my patients. Please let me know if there is anything that we can do to make your experience here at Resurgens Orthopaedics a more positive one. We will provide you with the best orthopaedic care available. I understand the extra time it may require to fill out paperwork during your office visit, but it enables me and my staff to better manage your care. Additionally, I apologize in advance for the time you may have to wait to see me. In some cases, a patient may require special attention or additional time due to a more serious injury. My staff and I will do our best to see you as soon as possible and take the time you need to receive individualized care. I personally know how valuable your time is, and we will work as diligently as possible to not only have compassionate, comprehensive care but efficient care, as well.
