New York, NY |
At my 1st appt, Dr Maltz seemed engaged/fairly competent. We scheduled a colonoscopy based on my symptoms & my age. At the very moment of the procedure, while on the operating table Dr Malz entered the room and expressed he had no idea who I was, why I was there, he had not looked at my case file or brought it with him. I was stunned. I had an anesthesiologist and attending nurse in the room who looked just as shocked as I felt and embarrassed. It got much worse from there. AVOID this doctor.
New York, NY |
Both of my parents have had our colonoscopies performed by Charlie Maltz over the years, as have I. I am mystified by the complaining comments on here. He is, first of all, a stellar doctor at the top of his field, practicing at the leading institution in the world. You want a guy of his skill doing this inspection and removal. Second, he is a great guy, with a warm, dry, sense of humor. All I can guess is that some uneducated people don't understand him, because we think he's great!
New York, NY |
Came in complaining about stomach issues and he ordered blood and stool work. Despite going through the testing. I discovered afterwards he did not even perform the correct tests. Do not go to this guy.
in Brooklyn, NY |
Arrogant doctor, Recieved appointment after two months. I arrived 10 minutes late after two hours of commute. This arrogant man said to rescheduale the appointment he cannot see me. When this same place and different doctor sent me for MRI, i had to wait 3 hours. No patient empathy here. This arrogant man thinks highly of himself.
New York, NY |
During prep for colonoscopy, had complications that sent me to hospital emergency room, where I was instructed to break my fast. When contacted, the doctor spoke rudely to my wife and refused to reschedule.
in Bayonne, NJ |
I read the prior reviews before my appointment and sadly everything they wrote about him is true. He should probably just teach medicine but not practice medicine. I came in for a second opinion on a fatty liver issue and he told me that it doesn't exist. He said regardless of my sonogram report. He said that since the endoscopy in good that no further testing is necessary, even I have severe abdominal pain. He barely evaluated my stomach. Please don't waste time with him!
New York, NY |
Dr. Maltz saw my mother and said I don't know why the hospital sent you to me. She has stomach issues and he told her to go to a neurologist. No tests . No questions about her stomach problems. He was dismissive and rude.
in New York, NY |
Have not had exam with Dr. Maltz, but work within Weill Cornell. Contacted him to rectify an issue with an patient's exam (Maltz placed he wrong order). He was extremely rude, refused to fix his mistake, told me he does not have time for this and that he will send his patient to a different hospital. He would rather inconvenience his patient and be rude to staff than spend 30 seconds fixing a mistake. No idea about his clinical work, but awful to deal with. Would never consider going there
in New York, NY |
Perhaps a good academic and knowledgeable in his field, and kind in demeanor, but I felt that he little considered my information, gave a pat answer to my problem, was disrespectful of my concerns and unavailable when I had complicating issues, did not advise me of or schedule the follow up care that (I now know) was indicated, and left me in a position of continuing to suffering symptoms for a prolonged period of time that might have been avoided and that affected my life significantly.
