Patient satisfaction ratings and reviews are based on personal opinions. Before you choose any doctor you should take into account their background, training, specialized experience AND their patient satisfaction to ensure they are the right fit for you.
I have been in an academic and teaching environment ever since I graduated from college in 1976 and later graduate school in 1980. i trained at several institutions which provided rich environments to learn and practice ophthalmology. I started at Loyola in1990 and served as the Residency Program Director up to 2013 when I became the Chair of the department. This has been an exciting opportunity to see the manage the department to grow to over 50 clinical and research faculty. My passion is gardening and I spend most of my free time working (weeding) in the garden and enjoying (eating) the fruits of my labor.
Every patient has a story and their problem can be generally diagnosed in most cases by listening carefully to the history and prompting details of the history. Performing an eye exam and assessing test results in many cases leads to the confirmation of the diagnosis. Listening carefully to patients and finding the problem (s) and then weighing the risks and benefits of the medical and/or surgical managements is a very satisfying professional practice for me.
