Dr. Manke has operated on my hands/fingers several times over the past 15 years. This last surgery was a joint replacement on two fingers. He is always wonderful, as is all of his staff including his PA and PT. And in less than two months my fingers are straight, have great range of motion and best of all...PAIN FREE!

My husband crushed his elbow. Dr Manke put him back together, and it healed beautifully. He gave us the facts, explained how he was going to fix it, and then guided us through his recovery. I highly recommend Dr Manke.

My mother was referred to him from the emergency room doctor at DePaul Medical center. He is very knowledgeable in his field. Figured out exactly what my mom needed got in her the next day. Him and the staff he works with are nice, polite, and caring. They checked on her gave us pointers on how to help her recover better and deal with any discomfort. I would recommend him and the staff at Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialist as well as the staff at Sentara Leigh (where they did the actual surgery).

Dr. Manke is awesome! He takes the extra time needed with his patients, and you can really tell he cares. He is very intelligent and skilled at what he does. He answered all my questions very thoroughly (and believe me I had a lot of questions). I have had about 5 other/ different surgeries but my wrist surgery with him was hands down the easiest/ less stressful. Would definitely recommend him for any upper extremity surgery.

He's wonderful. His personality shows he really enjoys his patients. Always smiling, always thorough and competent I've never had as good an experience as with him. Other doctors seem like robots who have a certain script they repeat. Dr. Manke is a real human being.

My wrist got broken from a scooter accident on a Wednesday and Dr. Manke fixed it that Friday. Within 6 weeks my hand is almost back to normal and my wrist is able to move. His personality was refreshing and he lessoned to all my concerns and directed me to the right places to find answers. He is the man to see if you need help with your hand.

Dr. Manke performed surgery putting my humerus fractured in several places back together and reattaching two major rotator cuff repairs. This was all due to fall from a ladder. The care and kindness I was shown was amazing. He is an excellent surgeon and I know I will have complete use of my limb. I cannot express how grateful I am to him, his secretary, assistants and hospital assistants. This was a life changing trauma and without his skill my outcome may have been less satisfactory.

I shattered both wrists in a fall while in Amsterdam. Dr. Manke came highly recommended by other well-regarded Norfolk physicians and we were able to get an appointment the day after our flight home. He did a complex surgery that involved reconstructing the wrists and inserting plates connected with screws. The surgery went beautifully and working with a physical therapist, I have regained full range of motion in both wrists and hands. I couldn't be happier with Dr. Manke and his staff!

Dr. Manke is a great doctor! I don't say this lightly, he let me guide my care and did not push surgery to fix my hand problem. After years of cortisone injections they were no longer effective and I told Dr. Manke I was ready to explore the surgical options, he laid them out and I choose the one that I felt would serve me best and he agreed. If you need a hand doctor or surgeon you surely can not do better than Dr. Manke

I am leaving a low score because I was not able to see Dr. Manke. It must be nice to pick which patients you want to see and turn down the rest. Dr. Manke would not even provide me the courtesy of explaining why he wouldn't see me. Also, his secretary Caitlan is hard to reach and very not helpful at all.
