Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Burgoyne "As a previous collegiate swimmer and a current amateur triathlete, I am intimately aware of the mechanics of the human body and the amazing things it can do. As an orthopaedic surgeon, I have the opportunity to restore your body to its natural state when things go awry. I believe in maintaining an active lifestyle and don't think pain or injury should stand in your way. Our care team has many tools at our disposal, both surgical and non-surgical, to keep you in top form for years to come."

Dr. Burgoyne Says:

Prior to starting practice in Hood River, I was in a group that cared for injured workers and patients with chronic pain.  Unfortunately, these patients were in a difficult place in life and often an orthopedic surgeon was not the proper physician for them to see.  I can understand their frustration and dissatisfaction. If i was not able to help them with my expertise, I hope that I...

in Portland, OR |
Dr. Burgoyne was willing to come in to the hospital on the Fourth of July to perform my ankle surgery (both fistula and tibia fractured, with dislocation). I live in Portland, and so transferred my follow up care to another orthopedic surgeon in Milwaukie, who had nothing but praise for the results of the surgery visible to him in the xrays and CT images. I am grateful to Dr. Burgoyne for being a dedicated professional who is willing to put the needs of injured patients ahead of convenience.
in Mount Hood Parkdale, OR |
Dr. Burgoyne is a very skilled surgeon. His pre-op and post-op care of my knee replacement has been excellent. He encourages me to questions anything and everything I can think of, and he provides me with clear explanations of procedures and recovery challenges and expectations. Him also shows a desire to constantly improve accepted surgical procedures. I believe Dr. Burgoyne is a welcome asset to the Hood River orthopedic medicine, and I hope he can establish his practice here.
