      Dr. Burgoyne says

Prior to starting practice in Hood River, I was in a group that cared for injured workers and patients with chronic pain.  Unfortunately, these patients were in a difficult place in life and often an orthopedic surgeon was not the proper physician for them to see.  I can understand their frustration and dissatisfaction. If i was not able to help them with my expertise, I hope that I was able to direct them to someone who could improve their condition.

Dr. Burgoyne is a very skilled surgeon. His pre-op and post-op care of my knee replacement has been excellent. He encourages me to questions anything and everything I can think of, and he provides me with clear explanations of procedures and recovery challenges and expectations. Him also shows a desire to constantly improve accepted surgical procedures. I believe Dr. Burgoyne is a welcome asset to the Hood River orthopedic medicine, and I hope he can establish his practice here.

Dr Burgoyne was great. I tweaked my knee after hitting an ice patch up on the mountain early in the year. I tried to make it through the season but just couldn't handle the pain. After he scoped my knee I was back on the slopes in 2 weeks. I really felt like I could have gone back earlier but he wanted me to wait till the stitches were out. Even my therapist was impressed on how little swelling I had after surgery. Thanks Dr B, you saved my season.

      Dr. Burgoyne's Care Philosophy

As a previous collegiate swimmer and a current amateur triathlete, I am intimately aware of the mechanics of the human body and the amazing things it can do. As an orthopaedic surgeon, I have the opportunity to restore your body to its natural state when things go awry. I believe in maintaining an active lifestyle and don't think pain or injury should stand in your way. Our care team has many tools at our disposal, both surgical and non-surgical, to keep you in top form for years to come.

I strive to provide the highest level of care and feel particularly in tune with high level athletes. Not only was I a collegiate athlete myself, but, I have continued to work with athletes throughout my career. I have cared for a wide range including weekend warriors, budding high school prospects, collegiate stars and professionals. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to be involved with several extreme sports and understand their unique needs. Below are some of the experiences that have shaped my career.

Mountain Dew Action Sports Tour (Portland, San Francisco, Salt Lake City)
