Accepting new patients
I grew up in Clearwater, Florida and came to Texas for college at UT Austin. I graduated UT Austin with a B.A. in Liberal Arts in 1979 and then went to medical school at UT Medical School-Houston. After graduating from medical school in 1983, I did my Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas. After finishing my residency in 1987, I joined Austin Regional Clinic in Austin, Texas. I was with the Ob-Gyn Department for 4 years and then with the Family Practice Department for 4 years. I changed departments to spend more time with my young sons. I resumed gynecologic practice in 1997 with a private practice in Round Rock, Texas. I have been practicing medicine continuously for 30 years. I have two sons. The oldest was a US Marine and is now at Austin Community College. The youngest will be graduating from Texas State and is teaching English in Spain. I remarried in 1999. We have 3 dogs (German Shepherd, Rottweiler and Chihuahua-Dachshund mix), 2 cats (Siamese and Bengal) and a parrot. I like to walk my dogs, go bike riding, read and go to the movies.

This content was provided by Dr. Roane-Blaker "I begin each visit listening to my patients to obtain a clear picture of their problems and needs. This is the foundation for my medical care. Once I have the information I need (examination findings, lab tests, ultrasounds, etc) I review everything with my patient and discuss treatment options. Medical and surgical management options need to be customized for each woman. Empowering women to take an active role in their healthcare choices is paramount to my practice of gynecology. "
