Drove 60 miles only to meet "Dr." with scale on her face saying the doctor gave her unclear notes. She had two months to read those and clear notes. Went back she supposedly did EMG leaving out the second part. I was emotional and had been through a lot and told her my story. When I looked at the patient portal she ripped me to shreds! She labeled me basically a psychological mess and lied and put in the report that I drink. I haven't drank in 20 years! Now all docs treat me poorly @ VCU. Why
Ridiculous when trying to get paperwork from her and the office. Has been two weeks, and filled out the form incorrectly, TWICE. If I didn't need to get my records from her and the center I would drop them as quickly as possible.

Dr Hamm is intelligent, compassionate, and exceedingly professional. For a doctor who must see staggeringly serious disease (given her line of neurological work), she has retained genuine empathy for a mere migraine-sufferer like myself. I still feel as though I've walked into another dimension to be having my migraines attended to after almost 30 years! She has given me hope!!!!

Rude and unprofessional. Get another job lady.

Found why I've been in pain since 2012 after 4 different doctors didn't know what was wrong. She gave me a medicine that is helping and I can work a whole day again without being miserable. Takes a long time to get in, but worth the wait. N

She's great. I have suffered for over 20 years and I've just started experiencing some significant relief. Wonderful doctor professional and a very kind and considerate person. Extremely happy with the care that I receive

I was unlucky enough to be forced into a visit with this doctor when all of the other neuros had waiting lists that were months long. Now I know why. She took little interest in my various symptoms or trying to address the symptoms. She actually told me to just come back in a year and we'll try again as things develop worse. She was curt and uncaring. I moved on and found a much better doctor elsewhere who I believe has accurately diagnosed me and starting treating me.

Catherine Ham is a great example of a bad doctor. If your condition doesn't fit nicely into a textbook definition of a specific disorder then this is not the neuro for you. If you have been referred to this doctor (I use this title loosely here as I will never honor her with this title again) for a list of symptoms that include some non-neurological symptoms you should probably go elsewhere; whatever symptoms you're experiencing that she doesn't deem neurological will be deemed psychiatric.
