I initially saw Dr. Root about 5 years ago when I wanted a second opinion on a wrist injury. My first impression was that she was an incredibly skilled doctor and very intelligent. So when I had trouble with the other wrist, there was no doubt as to which doctor I would go to. She quickly assessed my wrist and gave me options that included an MRI. My mother fell and broke her wrist. We were recommended to Dr. Root by the hospital emergency room staff. Though she had a busy schedule she worked us in so we could be seen quickly. She was very kind and gentle with my mother, which I greatly appreciate. My mother can be difficult to work with but Dr. Root took her time and explained everything so my mother was more comfortable. We had several follow up visits and we could not be happier with our service and care from the entire staff.

My dissatisfaction is not so much with this doctor as it is with her office and their customer service. My entire family frequent the Nirchl Orthopedic practice. We changed our health insurance to be more available to them. When I called in urgent need of an appointment for a hand injury, I was told that I would be treated like a "new patient" since I hadn't seen her in 5 years. I had see two other doctors in that practice less than 3 months earlier. The receptionist was curt and unkind.
