In the practice of psychiatry, the answer is always "it depends" (each person is an individual with a unique history, set of symptoms, and biologic makeup). Dr. Dorsey, who believes that the strongest healing tool is the doctor-patient relationship, performs a complete evaluation on each patient, including collaboration with other involved professionals. Based on her evaluation, Dr. Dorsey and her patient will then engage in a discourse about her findings and discuss treatment options so that each patient understands the recommendations and agrees to a treatment plan. Dr. Dorsey values the confidentiality of her practice, and will only share information at the written consent of the patient. She prefers to see patients in full (45 - 50 minute) sessions to get to know her patients as well as possible. Dr. Dorsey is available directly by phone within the working week and promptly refills appropriate medication requests by fax or phone on the day received. Dr. Dorsey loves psychiatry
