Each patient and family must understand the problems and potential solutions, including risks, in their own words. Every patient must be treated like family. It is important that the surgery is NOT the end of care, but just a point along the way that the patient, family and I plan before we start. I believe in aggressive pain care that avoids narcotics,as possible, and have excellent results. Mostly, no matter what the circumstance, I believe the patient must have the greatest confidence that they are to be treated personally and with the utmost care and concern, just like family.
