A good doctor "listens" to the patient.
An excellent doctor "hears" the patient.
Brian Michael Swan, M.D. received his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, located in Tucson, Arizona in 2000. He excelled, not only as a student, but was also extremely active in the community. He served as a strong advocate in developing several "mobile medical clinics", in order to help provide medical care and services to the under-served populations throughout Tucson. In addition, Dr. Swan was an active participant and leader among his student peers during medical school, serving to promote the expansion of primary care medicine, as the State Chairman and Chapter President of the American Medical Association – Medical School Section. Dr. Swan received many honors and awards during his academic training. While in medical school at the University of Arizona, he received "The Most Outstanding Student in the Medical Class of 2000 Award" – for being the top medical student in his class. He was also a distinguished recipient of both the "McGraw-Hill Award" and the "Merck Award", and was inaugurated as a member of the prestigious, "Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society" – an honor bestowed only to the top 5%-7% of the nation's graduating medical school seniors in 1999. Perhaps one of the most impressive aspects of Dr. Brian Swan's role as a medical provider relates to his unparalleled, and extremely broad array of clinical training as a physician. Dr. Swan has continued to serve as an advocate for the underserved communities here in California, most notably serving as a provider for several clinics set up to care for the large refugee populations arriving in California every day. Dr. Swan's vast array of medical knowledge and unique ability to provide extremely accurate diagnoses for his patients has not gone unnoticed recently, and his sincere compassion and caring bedside manner provided to his patients has recently earned him the prestigious, "2013 Patients' Choice Award", and the "2013 Most Compassionate Physician Award", both honors given to only the top 4%-6% of the nation's physicians. Dr. Swan is also a published author, who is frequently cited in many leading medical journals.
