Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Subach "'It has always been my primary goal to get patients back to their families, their lives, and their jobs as quickly as possible when spinal problems arise. In doing so, I have realized that patience and a non-operative approach is usually most effective. After examining you and reviewing your studies, I will try to give you both a clear diagnosis of your problem and an understandable therapeutic plan. If you and I decide that surgery is the only remaining option, as a neurosurgeon and spinal surgeon, I will make every effort to ensure that both the decision and the actual surgery are as painless as possible. I, along with my partners at the Virginia Spine Institute, have been able to combine our expertise and extensive training in both neurosurgery and orthopaedic surgery to offer you the most up to date treatment modalities and surgical interventions available today.'"

I absolutely love this doctor, he not only treats you as a patient- but genuinely listens to you and remembers so it feels like a friendship. His explaned what a 2 level cervical fusion (ACDF) was and why it was the best option for me. I was comfortable with Dr. Subach the entire journey. He did a steller job in surgery, I had an amazingly quick recovery and minimal scarring. Will I go back? Yep! Would I recommend to family and friends? You bet! His entire staff is there to help YOU!

The numbness, pain & reduction of usefulness of my arms/hands was so sever. I started researching for "the Best". One Doctor's name came up repeatedly so I made the call. Dr Brian Subach eased my nerves by reviewing all test results/x-rays/MRI with me, answer every question (more than once), never rushed, & ALWAYS with a tremendous sense of humor & smile! After surgery, the moment I opened my eyes it was apparent that most of the pain I had been living with was GONE! I'm out enjoying life again!
Dr. Subach has a "tier 1 operator" attitude and ability. He has a great bedside manner, is personable and above all else he listens. When he is in the room with you his attention is on you and no one else or no where else. He is one of the few civilians I trust with my life. I did when he replaced C5-7 discs.

Excellent communication, thorough and hears out your situation. I am finally on path and progressing towards improving my neck pain. The staff throughout the whole place are professional and treat you like you are a priority.
Leesburg, VA |
His thorough staff was kind, patient, and knowledgeable. After a bad experience with a previous neurosurgeon we found Dr. Subach via recommendation. He took the time to explain everything to our satisfaction and we left there confident that we were receiving the very best care. What a nice change.

I recently had major spinal reconstrution and my GWU neurosurgeon moved back to Seattle. I went through all the process of booking an appointment and was told because my Medicare was the disability type they would NOT see me! Nice, Whatever happened to Do no harm? Are we supposed to take second best?
