Brian T. O'Neill, MD, is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with a Subspecialty Certification in Sports Medicine. His surgical interests focus on hip and knee replacements, including revision surgery. Dr. O'Neill's special area of expertise is the Direct Anterior Hip Replacement, as he has performed over 800 Direct Anterior Hip Replacement surgeries. He currently serves as a teaching consultant for Depuy Orthopedics, training visiting surgeons from the upper Midwest in this technique. Dr. O'Neill has experience with hip resurfacing, including the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing (BHR) system. He has been the Director of the North Memorial Joint Replacement Center since its inception in 2008.
Dr. O'Neill has an active trauma and fracture care practice, as well as sports medicine. His professional responsibilities also include service on the Twin Cities Orthopedics Board of Governors and Executive Committee.
Dr. O'Neill has two teenage boys, and as a result, spends many hours at hockey rinks, ski hills, football games and lacrosse fields. He also enjoys time at the lake, as well as competing in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon annually.
