This content was provided by Dr. Moore "Dr. Brian Moore's clinical interests include benign and malignant tumors of the upper aerodigestive tract, advanced skin cancer, salivary gland disease and thyroid/parathyroid disorders. He has published multiple papers, articles and book chapters on head and neck cancer and reconstructive surgery. A native of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Dr. Moore earned both his undergraduate degree and his medical degree from Tulane University. He completed a residency in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed a fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology and reconstruction at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, serving as the first fellow in a joint program between the Departments of Head and Neck Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Following a successful career with the US Air Force where he served as Chief of Surgical Services at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, Dr. Moore joined Ochsner Medical Center and has served as Chairman of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Communication Sciences since May of 2015. He is certified by the American Board of Otorhinolaryngology, has been elected to a national position within the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and serves on multiple national committees of the AAOHNS and the American Head and Neck Society."

This content was provided by Dr. Moore "Dr. Moore delivers individualized treatment to his patients with the collaboration of a multidisciplinary team that includes fellowship-trained head and neck surgical oncologists/reconstructive microsurgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, speech and language pathologists and a psychosocial oncologist. This team approach defines head and neck cancer care at the Ochsner Cancer Institute. Dr. Moore believes in evidence-based treatment that incorporates minimally invasive surgical approaches, targeted molecular therapy and 3-D conformal radiation therapy when appropriate. "

I was treated by Dr Moore for cancer. Dr Moore was easily accessible, spends time explaining issues, and most importantly, recommends interventions only when it was necessary (considering the other tradeoffs and risks).

I looked for years and across the entire United States for an otolarynlogist to remove a large tumor from my parotid gland. I knew the risk of partial facial paralysis and other side effects that could affect me for the rest of my life. His medical credentials led me to him and one office visit...Read More
